In Crossville it goes a lot like this from what I've seen:
40% Tennessee fans
30% Florida fans (A lot of people wearing 2009 National Champion shirts lately)
15% Alabama fans
10% Kentucky fans
5% Georgia/Virginia Tech/Virginia/Non SEC teams

After living in northern VA for 18 years, I was suprised to see a lot of SEC fans in northern VA-Florida, GA, Bama, Auburn, UT, KY, Vandy and Miss. St.

Even Florida has their share of UT fans!:salute:

Strange....the one complaint I hear around here is why are there more UT fans than tiger fans in memphis....go on tiger high's campus and you will see quite a few license plates or stickers for UT....in fact people around here gripe about the local paper covering UT way too much in football....of course not as much in b-ball....

I'm pretty sure every place in the country is like this. Our is just slightly worse because of our proximity to some really good schools while we're down, and how strange Tennessee is shaped.

Even in Florida you'll see a ton of USC, LSU, Bama, ..etc gear.

LSU and Texas are about the only places I can think where 99% of people are fans of that school.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of bandwagon fans in every state. Remember how many Bama fans there were in Knoxville when Tennessee couldn't beat them? And they suddenly all disappeared when Tennessee started owning them? Now Tennessee has been down so the bandwagon jumpers have been on Florida, LSU, etc. You'll see them coming back on board soon enough... not that I really care to have them on board.

it's because most of lsu, florida, and alabama best recruits stay in state and big time tenn recruits go to other sec schools. Marlon Brown GA, Malone from memphis is commited to alabama, Hightower at alabama. i'm from alabama and i hate the tide but alot of people i know played ball at alabama. i wish them well, but i hope they lose when playing ut. that could be a reason. Kiffin need to put a fence around tenn and keep tenn best recruit and i'll bet we'll have more fans.

I live near Greensboro N.C. and there are tons of UT fans here.My son went to a Lax camp at Duke and we saw 4 cars with UT logos on them.

If you're a bandwagon fan, personally I'm glad you cheer for whatever loser school you choose. I don't want you in my Volnation. I want all the die hard, loud, in your face, pumped up, h*ll raisin', orange clad, crazy sonsab(*&^^% that we can get together and pack into Neyland.

My daddy was Vol fan, I'm a Vol fan (alum), and my son's first outfit of his life said "Born to go to UT" in Vanderbilt Hospital. He's 8 now and knows d@mn well that if he comes home and tells me he wants to go to Bama or Florida, he might as well tell me he's chosen to worship Lucifer and I'm probably gonna put him through a wall.....at best.

I was in sporting goods in the West Georgia area back in the early 80's. Almost everyone who came in the store from Alabama bought Alabama or Auburn gear. People from Georgia were mostly Bulldog fans with GT, Florida State, Clemson,and a few others mixed in. Then came Hershel Walker and we couldn't find enough UGA stuff. After he left it went back to being the way it was before. I think UGA has more bandwagon fans than anyone else in the South.

i know what you mean, i just started going to school in chattanooga so its still in close enough distances to bama and georgia, and between the year we had and the seasons bama and georgia had, u see almost as much crap from other teams as vols stuff

There are tons of UT fans in the Atlanta metro area. Memphis is not Tennessee in my mind. As far as any Bama fan goes it is all bandwagon. I have an Uncle born and raised in Knoxville. Is a UT fan sometimes, Arkansas fan sometimes and is now being a Bama fan. This is how most people work. They find some attachment to a team when that team is winning. We have family from Arkansas and he lived in Bama as an adult. Knoxville was Cincinnati Reds territory when I was a kid and may be again soon. The Reds will probably be winning before the Braves. This is just how it goes. In Atlanta people like the Hawks right now but as soon as they lose in the playoffs everyone will have another teams jersey to put on. Loyal fans are rare and priceless.

Live in Clermont Fl. west of Orlando I could not believe the amount of Vol fans that are here but after Antone davis opened a restaurant here Vol fans came out of the woodworks. We are everywhere even with the swamp less than 80 miles away. You have to love it right in the middle of gator Nation he has a section designated for Vol seating

I've seen several UT reps in Mo. and met several MU fans and alum in Knoxville.

Today's society being more transient, your find fans everywhere. I have seen a few cars with UT stickers on the roads around me.

In my house "Time Out" is the seconds in between my hand and his @ss. I haven't had to spank him since he was 5 though. I have developed "the dad look" that apparently can stop time...just like it did for me when my dad did it.
