I was on Gator COuntry earlier today, "trying" to discuss the LSU/Tebow cell phone issue.

I made the statement that if the roles were reversed, and an LSU players number got out, UF fans (albeit really sorry excuses for fans) would call said LSU player as well.

They then deleted the entire thread.

You people are ridiculous homers with a sense of entitlement that sickens me.

Love Steely Dan..My husband and I had a 4 star restaurant in New York City in the mid to late 90's, named Aja....It was on the corner of Broadway and 22nd, behind the Flat Iron building...

Try being at last years game....not to mention the latest "ill prepared event" where we were ,supposedly, "out-athleted", per our illustrious staff. Recolection makes me sick. However, Our Vols have turned the most recent corner, and we re ALL 100% behind them. We love 'ya Gator.....but we love the VOLS more. Maintaining
your hope, is now looking up @ US and that gives me EXTREME Pride and a fitting spot for "no-chin WAC dude" for the "newbe" to have a reality check now there in the unpredictabl SEC. Let me be the first to say NO 1 Baby.

Bad mojo. Or perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I usually only attend games against our toughest opponents. My record when attending UT games in Lexington, on the other hand, is impeccable.

I know lawgator pretty well so I can speak on this. Do I think his puts us down a little with posts that appear to be on the level YES! I have sat with him many times and talked sports and he is very knowledgeable.
He is very pro Gator though and that is ok with me. I do see how some of the things he posts puts off Vol fans.

Overall picture- Great guy to watch sports with. Great guy to have a beer with and he buys you lots of drinks also. Everyone here would enjoy his company if we were at a game or anywhere else so he is ok with me.

the difference between UF fans and UT fans always made me think of the difference between monied people from Brentwood vs Belle Meade...new money vs old money. Class/refinement is not something that can be purchased, it generally only comes over time, as you become acustomed to the finer things. Having been to Gainesville in the early 90's I have seen them at their worst. Maybe as they continue to win over an extended period of time they'll learn how to act with grace, of course that's asking alot of people born and raised in North Florida.

Thankyou, Bill, that's a nice sentiment. You are right -- of course my posting pro-Gator stuff in the context of knocking Tennessee is going to be antagonistic but that's part of the fun of the site, IMO. Its just talking about our teams and its still in the end just fans chatting and poking fun at each other.

There is a grain of truth to what you say. The UF fan base that is more Southern genteel is pretty small because the bulk of the fans are making a good living having come out of there in the late 80's early 90's and they tend to just be obnoxious about the winning side of going to a game. The older fans appreciate the trip itself, the camaraderie, the renwed acquaintances, etc. The younger fans only care about winning.

I like to think that we true Gator fans will be like a fine bourbon and become more mellow with age.

Though you will be teased forever for admitting you are a fan of the Dan, my estimation of the good taste on the board just went up a hundred-fold!!

You named your restaurant after one of the greatest albums of all time, the compliation of the work of hundreds of top flight musicians produced songs that are still in vogue today. Did you know that Kanye West just sampled the Dan for his newest album? A line from Kid Charlemagne.

To those saying I am the only one in the crowd when they are on tour, you might want to go check on that a little bit. For the show here in Orlando earlier this year, tickets went on sale 6 months before the show and it sold out in less than 20 minutes.

Probably because the Vols have not fallen to a 3-year stretch as bad as Zook had. 3-straight 5-loss seasons is tuff to swallow.

That's not surprising. There are a lot of assisted living facilities in Florida that no doubt bought the tickets in bulk with plans to bus residents to the show.
