Not to mention almost half the SEC lost their week 1 games for the first time in 20 years. Hopefully we stop scheduling these dangerous Group of 5 teams and paying them over $1M to play on our field. There are no positives or negatives in winning against teams like that and at the end of the day they just proved they can hang with the Power 5 schools. Either schedule an FCS cupcake to get a tune up for week 1 or go ahead and schedule a Power 5 home-and-home for week 1. It's not worth $1M to play a dangerous team with no benefit of winning to start out the season. All we can hope for is they learn from that game and play lights out the rest of the season.

It's not the scheduling, it's the preparation and quality of recruits coupled with the coaching.

Northwestern got beat by Western Michigan Saturday. I do believe App State would beat Northwestern especially if they win the TO battle and time of possession like they did against us. They played great game and most of the breaks went their way except for the Dobbs/Hurd fumble..

Prior to the Northwestern game, we had 12 actual games to practice....which is a lot better than practicing against ourselves.

I've loved the Vols since the early 70's and I ain't about to stop now....no way....no how! Win, Lose, or Draw I'm ALL ORANGE! :matrix:

Well if you make the move from FCS to FBS and go 11-2, that's got to impress some people.

I hope they don't start stealing our recruits away! lol

Last Wednesday everyone in this board was all " we're gonna win the east"

Personally, I never came close to that prediction. Been too well trained for too dang long to pay any attention to threads pertaining to talk of SEC East Champs, Hurd for Heisman or NC BS, etc.

One down, one to go till same thread next week!

We should know a lot more after this week.
By opening up the playbook however much they do this weekend will the offense. I believe they handcuffed the offense so bad they couldn't even breathe.

Op I love it when people do these...holier than thou/y'all suck, when you're clearly one of us. You wouldn't be on this board if you weren't. Fans are passionate. Were you more or less excited after Thursday night?

I was disappointed in the performance but I also realize that this is a game and that life goes on after the final whistle blows.

And yes I am a very huge fan of these VOLS and have been for my whole life. But I'm smart enuff to not get all caught up in the hype and act as if the sky is falling after a disappointing performance.
