The DeSantis containment thread -- all things DeSantis go here

Florida defies national housing 'recession' with post-pandemic boom

NAPLES, Florida In downtown Naples, nearly every street along the turquoise waterfront has an active construction project, whether a new home or a remodel.

Almost every part of Collier County, southwest Florida , and South Florida more generally has only been expanding more after people began relocating to the Sunshine State to escape pandemic restrictions in the rest of the country.

Biden is a tyrant? Hmmm. That's a new one. DeSantis is definitely a tyrant--major a-hole.

Id bet money that if we put Bidens executive actions side by side with Desantis you wouldnt be able to tell which was which without a name attached. Both are tyrants. Biden just gets a pass because he’s a tyrant on issues that you agree with.

I guess this goes here…

Floridians with smartphones were greeted with a 4:45am wake up call this morning from the Division of Emergency Management.

Because, Florida.

Looks like the Guvnor's 2024 Presidential campaign is on life support and Trump has the power cord in his hands. (Have you seen the pudding commercial?)

Toughest statement I heard was from a GOP senator who said "he's a governor." Basically means, not ready for prime time.

An elected official that forces private employers to fire employees who won't get an experimental vaccine is a tyrant.

The vaccine is not experimental. 70 percent of Americans have received the vaccine. That's the opposite of experimental. The usual reach....

State of the GOP: A president who tries a coup, incites an attack on the U.S. Capitol that leads to 8 deaths--all his responsibility; twice impeached, pathologically corrupt and dishonest; should be in prison--may yet get sent up the river, if we're all lucky--and he wants to be president again??? You can't make it up.

His rival is a bully and tone-deaf loser from florida who has spent days promoting some lame book of his in Ohio while Fort Lauderdale experiences devastating floods, major gas lines in southern Florida, and his big selling point, in his mind, is calling everything and everybody, "woke."

What a pair of losers. Seriously, the GOP has lost its way. The party has been taken over by rubes and extremists and has become decidedly corrupt. The strategy for winning elections consists mainly in trying to pretend Democrats are cheating while ACTUALLY cheating themselves. Their big goal is to restrict voting by groups that they believe vote for Democrats--which is also known has cheating. Trying to keep college students from voting on their campuses--that's their latest BS/cheating ploy. Loathsome people. A GOP lawyer was caught on tape telling a bunch of conservative crazies that they must work to "combat" student voting. In other words, more cheating is needed. The GOP way.

Umm, yeah it is an experimental treatment under emergency use authorization. Answer me this, why haven’t they asked for full approval? We’ve had the biggest trials ever conducted on a new “vaccine” when will they finally ask for full approval?

Ron DeSantis and Florida Are About to Give the Supreme Court a Direct Challenge on the Death Penalty

The Florida Senate passed and sent to Governor Ron DeSantis a proposed law permitting the death penalty for pervs who rape kids under age 12. Governor DeSantis, who championed the bill, is expected to sign it into law, thereby setting up a challenge to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In the 2008 Supreme Court decision called Kennedy vs. Louisiana, Patrick O’Neal Kennedy was convicted of raping his eight-year-old stepdaughter in that case. She didn’t die but suffered traumatic physical and, one must presume, psychological injuries. According to Wikipedia:
[The rape] tore the victim’s perineum “from her vaginal opening to her anal opening. [It] tore her vagina on the interior such that it separated partially from her cervix and allowed her rectum to protrude into her vagina. Invasive emergency surgery was required to repair these injuries.”

Will be interesting if he can win this issue with the current Supreme Court.

From anecdotal evidence showing a large number of Repub legislators approve of sex and marriage with young teenagers, this could give rise to an exodus of right wingers from Florida.
