The Derrick Dooley hire

nobody ever mentioned malzahn until auburn's recent success.....cut is doing a bang up job at duke....

I'm pretty sure people have always had great things to say about Malzahan. Even last year he did good things at Auburn with relatively no offensive talent

I was happy with Dooley being hired, and I definitely think he deserves more time before people start saying he's failed; but what has anyone seen from him that has been positive this season? I haven't seen too much. Not trying to tear him down or anything, goodness knows I hope the Vols and Dooley succeed as much as anyone, just an honest question.

His gimmicky crap is the kind of offense that excites fans, the media, and maybe even recruits, but doesn't end up winning championships. Especially when the defense is, quite simply, horrific. Newton, along with a down conference, is making them look much better than they really are. I still feel like it's going to fall apart for both the guy who made Iowa State worse and the high school offensive coordinator he hired.

i know the man is trying and i back ut but i am not seeing improvment from this team or coaching staff.

i know we can say we do not have backups, we are young, we play a tough schedule, but that is all excuses.

other teams have tought schedules have backups like we do, and have young players that start.

i give you two examples look at bama and florida.

i like the way dooley talks, but i did not like the way he took this lost to bama on his sunday show today, i know it hurt and everyone hurts, but maybe him and saban are to good of friends, how can u be smiling after we take a beating like that the next day.

i know it is over, move on, i will let it go, GO VOLS.

I'm sure this has been said before, but it's simple really:
last name "Kiffin"
last name "Dooley"

Hammy hired football names.

If Lane's name was "Lane Johnson", he would have never got an interview.
If Derek's name was "Derek Smith", he would have never got an interview, either.
(No offence to any Johnson's or Smith's out there.:))
Hammy hired a football name, probably, sincerely, thinking he was hiring the next great young coaching mind.

Who knows? Maybe he did. Time will tell, friends. Time will tell.
