• Too many missed tackles
• DBs continuously getting burned
• LBs missing assignments

Most of our defense looked flat footed that’s afraid to make contact with opposing players.

Need a complete roster change and bring in some SEC Caliber players to replace the Big East leftovers.

Way too damn slow on defense.

Terrible defensive performance in the second half. Half those boys should be benched..

The defensive specialist we hired certainly didnt look like one tonight. Regression since Auburn. Unfortunate.

Their team knew they didn't need to throw the ball because they could run up and down us. When we were beat on that they throw bombs that connect to the WRs.

Defense looked horrible tonight. I don't think South Carolina punted at all in the second half. Miserable. Extremely frustrating game.

I'm also tired of hearing "we have to recruit the right players." We heard this for about a decade now.

I was so confused why Pruitt kneeled at the end of the half with 30 seconds and a time out I believe? I mean run it, pass it, get in field goal range.

He made ballsy calls all season but backed down tonight. I just don't get it.

Yep, bad week for the D. We needed the offense to bail us out and they almost did. I'll take the moral victory. On the road against a better team, our D didn't play well, we committed a lot of penalties and we almost pulled that out.

There's no such thing as a moral victory and losing to a bad South Carolina team is just another bad loss.

You lost me at "moral victory". We need to get out of Butch's mindset before we start being a contender again.

A moral victory (loss) against the Gamecocks... smh

No... they probably averaged a 1st down every 1.5plays. They ran the ball at will and then just burnt our DB's whenever they wanted. Everyone knew our D had no chance, including our D. 2nd half was the worst defensive performance this year. And as bad as a performance we had last year.

Yes, the defense was porous and cost us the game tonight.

But the offense choked away chances, too.

There are moral victories for fans, not players/coaches and that SC team has more players than we do. They aren't a bad team.

Yep, welcome to reality. We didn't win a SEC game last year, did you forget? There are moral victories against South Carolina and tonight was one.

There is an improvement for sure. But.. You have to stop the running game at the line of scrimmage.

Someone noted on another thread we need to get rid of a lot of players and replace them with true talent. As it is, next season may be an 8-4 team. If that. This upcoming class will need to have key positions such as OL and DL, maybe a few backs.
