The defense HAS to improve and Butch HAS to accept responsibilty if it doesn't.

Actually....This ^

By some accounts on here the BGSU QB is the greatest to every play the game by making seemingly impossible completions, not any CB in the history of football could have defended.

Our DBs got beat. Period. It needs to get cleaned up or OK will have a field day.

Was there even ONE account this utterly overdone?

So because you think one of the best DBs thats ever played couldn't have defended some of those passes, that that is an excuse as to why they were completed? Typical VN excuses.

Why can't people just admit that our D got torched by an inferior team? Our D sucked this past week. They need work.

Well said. Had to give ya a like on that one BOT.Some people are just in denial and making excuses. Butchna your a smart***!

My gosh, how difficult is it to understand that players that outperform.in practice usually get the nod.to start but it doesn't translate to game day success? Is it really. so hard?

And 4-8 is.hilarious.

Star count does not count as credit for early playing time. A 5 * true freshmen isn't by default better than a 3 star Sophomore or Junior.

Keeping a 5 star DE and 5 star DT on the bench, and starting a walk-on at MLB, over a highly talented 4 star MLB, is unexplainable. Derek Barnett as a freshman was phenomenal. Urgency should trump youth for the Vols' 2015 defense. I know Jumper and O'Brien play with a lot of heart, but would they be starters on any other SEC team? The season could easily end at 4-8 without some changes.

OMG....the sky is falling. Please put your OK game plan together and deliver it via drone to Butch immediately. Clearly, you should be calling the shots for the Vols. What the **** was Dave Hart thinking by not hiring you as HC?:thud:

I wasn't going to respond to this rambling, knee-jerk after one game of a post until I got to the O'Brien part.

Danny O'Brien has been busting his ass the last two years on a defense that has improved each year. The work that he and Jordan Williams put in at DT last year was pretty damn impressive considering it was mostly a 3 man rotation with Owen Williams and a bit of undersized Dimarya Mixon. O'Brien battles his ass off inside and does a good job of it too. Stripling is one of the best dline coaches in all of football, college or pro... If he thought someone else more capable don't you think he'd be playing?

Butch Jones and his staff are tasked with many things, but ultimately, regardless of the great things he may do with our players academically or helping them grow into good men, their success and retention as coaches at UT will be judged on wins and losses. These coaches know this. The idea that they wouldn't play the best players, regardless of senority or any other factor, is asinine.

And for the love of baby Jesus, before anyone even begins to utter Dobbs, his family wanted a redshirt for him academically and Butch tried to honor the request. Please stop bringing this crap up.

Starting today I am going to take naps so I can stay up late and jump on OPs who come up with this jibberish late at night. Coming in late the next morning just ain't the same.

I didn't know the starting line up was determined by high school star ratings. Why is Cam Sutton even in the game at all since he was a 3 star

you realize that Deion Sanders couldn't have defended some of those passes by BG, in 48 years of being a CFB fan I don't think I have ever seen a QB in any game throw so many perfect deep balls. They were perfect nobody could have defended them. Its nothing to get so upset about.

Yeah...that's equivalent to "greatest most everest QB ever in the entire universe and WRs" whatever that silly grade school crap you were throwing out. :loco:

When your facilities return, ponder this question: Which sounds more like an overreaction...him saying that not even Deion Sanders could have defended some of those perfect throws? Or your taking offense somehow and sarcastic reinterpretation?

You asked for one example and I provided it.

Deal with it - our fans are stupid.

He said this:

I said this:

Like I said, reading is fundamental. Deal with it.

Thread title is funny. CBJ doesn't HAVE to do anything really except coach his ball team the way he sees fit. He is a great ambassador for the school and a master recruiter...his leash is as long as the grand strand. Get a grip and back away from the ledge. We are on the way back to the top...there may be some bumps in the road though. Even my wife doesn't panic as much as some of you clowns. Sheesh.

I agree with you 100%.
I don`t give a rats ass what the coaches do, or don`t do.
Letting a "B" team score 30 on us is unacceptable.
Something has to change, and change quick.
Otherwise it will be business as usual. Beat the chumps and lose to the good teams.

Same was said three years ago about the previous coach.
