The deep thoughts and life philosophy of sumsoonerchick

That's what they want you to believe, but he was as guilty as souce is being nooga.

He was a chess player. It was all a chess game.

The story was narrated, but not by him. By Red.

He gave valuable financial help to the guards. And got nothing in return?? Lol. Red even said "at first I thought he was trying to curry favor". Hint....hint... Of course he was.

The interactions perceive between the warden and Andy are based off what Andy tells Red and the others. Red was never around Andy and the Warden together, Red narrates what Andy tells him.

His ultimate work of art or move in his chess game was Tommy.. he spent months with Tommy "teaching" him and planting that whole story about his alibi in his head.

That's why that movie is in my top 5 of all time. Brilliant.
As I recall, by helping the guards he stopped getting raped by the "Sisters".

This is why I consistently rank Godfather 1 as the best. Very straight forward......someone does you dirty, you put one in their head and then sit back and enjoy the cannoli.

So he did the taxes and gave financial advice for 20 years and they beat up a guy. Cool!
Andy was getting raped on the reg. That stopped when he started helping the guards. Plus it lead to him working in the library. A cushy gig and protection.

I saw the movie. He didn't start doing the taxes for all the guards, there and another county, and helping their kids go to college which was a dream only realized thanks to Andy, after he started working in the library.

and Shawshank is always the second on my list.......and then it's the Porky's trilogy

I saw the movie as well. The whole tax thing started when they were working on the roof. Andy offered tax advice and in return got everyone a beer. After that, the guards started protecting him from the "Sisters" and everything else evolved from there.

What's your point?

You said Andy got nothing for helping the guards. He actually got a lot.

Umm, I was being facetious.

But you were also suggesting he had this masterplan all along. I don't think getting routinely raped was part of any plan. I think he stumbled into a way to be protected, and he took it. He wasn't TFG. He didn't enjoy having his ass used as a pin cushion. But he also used his new status to help others.

He got raped because he was in jail for killing his wife, and her lover. He kinda asked for it whether he enjoyed or not.

Except he was probably innocent. And if he did do it, I say justifiable homicide.

You would think quitting one of my jobs would have given me more free time, but this these courses I’m taking this semester are a serious time suck!!! 1633460245869.gif
