I have got to the point of chuckling about some of the posts on the forum with the hate. I know we have insiders who have tipped us on Shannon being the new DC. I dont post alot but read this forum daily. All of this buildup and rage in the posters is silly. I know we are all worried about the recruiting class and we want out school to do well especially myself against that bunch across the state line to the south. I do know one of the boosters personally but I have not called to "get" any info. Rest assured that Coach Dooley and AD Hart are making sure they make the "right" hire. The administration is well aware the fanbase is restless and wants a winner and if they dont deliver and Neyland is half empty, then they lose their jobs. Their are some "insiders" in the know on this board but contracts can take time especially if you hire a big name, so be patient.

Remember, Coach Dooley or Hart neither has come out and said a thing in regards to names, so dont be pissed if your rumored guy dont get the job.

Good post. And we all know that if the people who have been mentioned on Volnation aren't hired then Dooley and Hart haven't "opened up the wallet" and are "embarrassing the Tennessee name"...it could never be that we (myself included) have no idea what we are talking about (98% anyway) and just need to calm down a little. Even if the person's name has been mentioned alot on this board doesn't mean they are a good or bad hire, but it does mean they are the new DC at the University of Tennessee and will more than likely do better than anyone on this forum could and therefore I support them.

Sick of reading what the "insiders" say. It is obvious that no one really knows anything including the people who post on this board, Hyams and Bassillio. This program continues to be a joke and it appears that Dooley is a 'lame duck' coach.

Agree with the post. Disagree we needed yet another thread about the fruitless DC campaign.

Good post. I am optimistic that Hart and Dooley will make a good hire. I am pessimistic that the chicken littles and Dooley haters will be happy. So be it. Rebuilding is hell.

So....you start a new thread to tell us how bad it is to start new threads making predictions about the DC hire?
Wanna make fliers with me to how how bad it is to waste paper?

True, but it is still fun to pretend that one has inside info and post a fake thread just to see the fellow fans response. So dont think that your reasonable statement will stop unreasonable comments that trigger worried minds

I agree. A few years ago we would have had people foaming at the mouth to get this job. Rebuilding is hell. Now, in the rebuilding mode, it seems way too hard to get a good one. I too think we will end up with one that will keep people from burning mattresses or jumping.

Take your well thought out logic elsewhere...it has no use on this board. Your post must be full of any number of the following: Speculation, "insider info", rumor, overwhelming hate for Dooley and what he is doing, overwhelming optimism for Dooley's future, troll bait, etc.

Good post by the way!

Patience is definitely in short supply these days and not just for UT fans. 24hr access to info is great until the info you want is not readily available. That being said, taking time to find the right guy is important but so is speed. Saw O'brien at PSU already hired his DC after being on the job 4 days. Bearing that in mind, Tom Bradley, the former DC and interim HC, is now looking for a work. The first school to move beyond the 'guilty by association' baggage is going to land themselves an excellent coach.

Agreed, Tom Bradley would be an excellent DC to consider. Linebacker U for so many years.... I suspect that O'brien is wanting to clean house of anyone involved in PSU football while Sandusky was slinking around..

He would come with the stigma of the Sandusky crap, and no one knows how that would affect recruiting or the perception around here.

Rumor has it that Hart came in as a spy/double agent for Bama. His whole agenda is to keep Dooley around for the next ten years and surround him with fellow LA Tech coordinators. Dont expect Shannon, Saban or anyone you have heard of to be hired in the next decade or so.

I hope this is tongue in cheek, why would Saban leave Bama where he makes over 5 million, has recruits falling over themselves to stay in state and play for Bama, and has already tried the NFL.

Link??? Seriously, that would make for some more good offseason drama. Keep saying it enough on here and soon there will be a thread claiming it as the gospel :loco:
