The day of reckoning has arrived

Wonder if the players realize this may be their biggest game of meaning in their Vol careers. Hope not but it may be since signs of a turnaround seems to be at least a yr or 2 behind what we thought.

A convincing win will solve a lot of things
A close win will calm Vol Nation a bit but the confidence level in the coaches, players and season will still be low
Another loss and bar the door. Vol Nation goes into uncharted territory and what happens next is anyone's guess.

I am truly hoping for the convincing win so we get back on track to see the progress in this team we were all expecting this season.

Not really. The Florida game will be much more significant. And one that we should have a chance in based on talent. But of course, Florida will probably beat us by a million. Somehow every other program seems to have a correlation between recruiting talent and on the field results expect for us.

IF we win by a "squeeker", I'll be happy with the W, but in order to calm me down, we are going to have to win, like and SEC team-playing at home-on TV-with something to prove. An overtime win, a one point 4th quarter win, while still a win, isn't what I'm looking for, only an Old Fashion Tennessee A** Whoooping, will calm me down!

Imagine next week going into Chattanooga when and if Tennessee is 0-2:rolleyes:
Right On! If we don't post a W today, Chattanooga will "smell blood in the water", they won't need an inspirational speech from their coach, they won't need anything to "fire them up", they'll be ready to take it to the house. If we don't win today (and win big)-Chattanooga will be a nightmare.....

Gonna be honest, I don’t think a close win will calm anyone.

Keep in mind that it took our HOF basketball coach 3 years to have what most would call a good season. It is a whole lot easier to turn things around in basketball than football so it’s seems maybe the 8 and 9 win predictions were just premature. We still shouldn’t have lost to GA State though. Let’s get it together and whip those Cougars.

Anything short of a blowout of BYU is going to leave it open for questions.

Real test starts in a couple of weeks.

5 or 6 blowouts like last season against legit SEC competition and I think it's proof Pruitt is in over his head.

It will a few.

But I'm telling you squib, I'll take a well prepared-well-planned- hard fought-give it my all-we just don't have the players loss over a bunch monkies screwing football just got lucky win.

I still don't have a feeling about what we're gonna witness tonight.

This has been a long week for UT fans but I think everyone just needs to relax and let the team play and let Pruitt coach. I mean there have been worse defeats by other big time programs, i.e. Michigan to Appalachian State 12 years ago, in Ann Arbor and Michigan was ranked #5 at the time. I may be wrong, but I don't think they were a D1 school at the time. That Michigan team went on to be 9-4 and won thier bowl game. I could be sticking my neck out here but UT will have their act together today and beat BYU. It may not be pretty, but a win none-the-less.

We all hoped Vandy and Mizzou last year were the fluke, while UK and Auburn were the norm. Unfortunately the first game picked up where last season left off. This is our chance to turn that around.

I take a W no matter what.. I’m tired of hearing SH....it from everyone! I would rather have a convincing W but I’ll take the W none the less

Hope the players are tired of hearing it too! If not, they have no ballz.

Only proof of a disastrous roster and upper classes that are, for the most part, utterly disappointing.
