I live in Nicholasville,KY which is about 7 miles south of Lexington. Victory is sweet this day. I can't tell you how many KY fans are calling into the radio shows crying how their "beloved" Wildcats may have been beaten, but are still the better team... :cray:
I truly enjoy this time of year, especially the last 23.. :dance2: The local news of course showed the players talking with the media after the game. Jacob Tamme & Andre Woodson gave such a heart breaking interview the female reporter actually broke out in tears.
As usual they say wait till next year.. :post-4-1090547912:

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!

Well, KY showed as much heart as we did in that game. Just a great college football game! If I were a KY fan I'd be proud and I'd probably be tearing up a little too - esp. knowing that I was losing Woodson! Reminds me of when they had Tim Couch at the helm and felt like they had a legitimate shot, but we had more in the tank then, too!

Exactly. Without Woodson UK will just be the same old Kentucky.

I didn't hear anyone from Kentucky say they had the better team. It was a great game and Tennessee deserved to win it.

As for Kentucky, this isn't the "same old Kentucky" as Mullett Vol said. This is a program that will land recruits that used to go elsewhere. The biggest difference in Tennessee and Kentucky is depth, just as it was stated during the broadcast yesterday. They'll be better defensively next season, obviously not as good offensively.

Congratulations on the victory.

Are you serious? I'll name you two. How about Dick Gabriel and Jacob Tamme....

I´m usually pretty reserved in my comments, but some of you guys need to get a grip. You were this close to losing it all, and yet you´re cocky as if you blew us out 40-0. Fact is, you were pretty darn lucky to win, all things considered.

Have some respect for a team that gave you all you wanted and then some. One day, you´ll lose one like that, and you´ll understand how it feels.

After we lost last night, I posted my congratulations as those who experience defeat should. Maybe some of you should learn how to win graciously.

If we catch a few 3rd and 4th down passes or Berry catches the interception the game is not close or ended in regulation. I hate the lucky to win argument.

The team, I do respect and yes, we've lost one like that so we all ready know. Been there...done that.

It's the fans I have trouble with. While our band was marching on the field at half time doing their Salute to Tennessee show....the fans started booing when Rocky Top was played to represent Knoxville. That was totally low class.

neither team deserved to lose yesterday. it was just that kind of game. a great game with a classis finish. i don't blame woodson and tamme for breaking down in the locker rooms. after that kind of loss it's hard not to get upset. win or lose, woodson and company played a heck of a game yesterday. hats off to that whole team. and likewise to the vols. the quarterback play was fun to watch yesterday from both sides.

as if we don't do the same when we play the opposing team's fight song in the pre-game when we are at home?

I don't do that...never have...never will. I don't think it should be done but I can't police 107,000+. I can only take care of myself. I would never boo our own band. The only band I have ever booed was the University of Virginia in the Sugar Bowl when they started making fun of Elivs being dead. Anyone else remember them doing that???

I work for a company headquartered in Kentucky and I am just glad I can go to work tomorrow. All the Kentucky fans were waiting to clobber anyone living south of the border. It was a good game, but I agree with VOLinthaATL that it had every chance of not being that close.

What did the fans do with the rest of the presentation? They cheered. They showed respect for the University of Tennessee Marching Band's talent. They always boo Rocky Top, they always will.

I don't mind other teams booing Rocky Top. I love annoying other people with that song. Booing an unofficial fight song isn't the same as booing the national anthem. Complaining about it may be different.
