The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

I doubt it will happen. Jerry will pay him. I am so sick of the drama though.
Managing contracts seems to be one of the Cowboys biggest issues. They always seem to drag their feet and create unnecessary problems. This whole Parsons contract shouldn’t be this difficult. Honestly, he should’ve been paid last season. Part of the issue is that Jerry won’t talk with Parsons agent.

It's maddening because the longer they drag it out, they are just costing themselves more money.

I’m guessing Micah hasn’t been working out with the team. He’s got catching up to do. No definitive resolution to this point.
The resolution is for the Cowboys to call Parsons' agent and set up a meeting. Then don't leave until the issue is settled one way or the other. Either pay the man or tell him he is being traded. Parsons either has to negotiate a deal or play under his current contract and then play under the franchise tag. It is in the best interest of both sides to show up and talk it over. But it seems neither side wants to be the one initiating the conversation. Kinda the idea of whoever calls first loses. The whole thing is stupid.

I put all the blame on the Cowboys. Parsons shouldn’t talk without his agent being involved. It seems that Jerry really doesn’t want to pay Parsons this year and is being stubborn about the whole thing. This could have been resolved last year at a cheaper rate. The funny thing is that any one of us could probably get a deal done in an afternoon. Just set up a meeting with Parsons and his agent, have copies of the Garrett and Watt contracts and use them as a basic framework.

Joe Milton is absolutely terrible and I’m pulling for him so bad. I’ve watched him the last two games and he’s just aweful. He hasn’t improved since his days at Tennessee. When he hits someone in stride accurately, IT HAS TO BE LUCK!!!

I cannot believe nobody ever talked him into being a TE or quitting. Maybe his hands are garbage as well. Pour guy, he's such a good dude.

Sports talk always bitching about something. Not one starter has been on field in preseason. I will be concerned after 5 regular season games if we're 2-3 or 1-4.

I hear this Netflix documentary dropping tomorrow is as good as The Last Dance.

Some overall thoughts.

Episode 3 might be the best single football doc episode I have ever seen. I got goosebumps. It was so incredible how they set up it.

You knew it was going to be a lot of Jerry grandstanding, but by the end I really thought they went overboard.

Aikman is so, so, so, so, so, so, so uninteresting lol

I really enjoyed Emmitt. I thought he was the best interview.

I was disappointed they didn't go more in detail about the roster building, but I'm a nerd. I was EXTREMELY disappointed they totally glossed over they took Steve Walsh in the 89' supplemental draft and gave up their #1 overall pick AFTER taking Aikman in April. It's funny a significant portion of the doc is "Who made the Herschel trade" but weirdly nobody ended up claiming that one!

The way they set up the big games was the best part of the doc. They made it feel like it was life and death with the production. It was incredible.

Good doc. Really enjoyed it. You could tell everyone other than Irvin (who was Irvin of course) was holding back a little bit. Would have liked to hear from Larry Allen, maybe the greatest OG of all-time. They talk about the Alvin Harper play and how incredible and important it was. Yet, they didn't interview him. One of the beauties of the Last Dance was getting role players' stories and how they felt. I really thought it was a vital piece missing that prevented from being a great doc.
