DE Darius Hamilton has said that he will visit officially. If he does ,Tennessee just may convince this 5 star that Knoxville is the best place to be instead of Rutgers.

On NCAA football, it is really hard to get DT commits too. I put in so much time and I still finish second best!! It is so frustrating. I have problems at DE too.

It would be nice to get some late interest from a DT stud like Jernigan last year, only land him this time. The D-line is really the only part of recruiting that sends me in to panic mode. Year in and year out, I look to sign some hosses, but we never seem to satisfy our needs on the line. I guess I've been spoiled by having guys like Henderson, Haynesworth, Harrell, and Williams(to name a few) to watch. Defense is my favorite side of the ball, and everything starts with line control. I'm excited with where we are in the secondary and where we are headed with the linebackers(can't wait until Santos suits up in 2012, guy looks like a beast), but I'm still leery about the line. We need talented depth. Maybe some of our commits can turn some talented D-line friends our way.

Two talented DTs are a must. Without them in the 2012 class, it won't matter where they "finish" according to Rivals, Scout or ESPN. The class will not be a success. That means they will end up looking to JUCO talent to come in an keep the line effective.

Again, DT should be the priority for this coaching staff in 2012. You are all right. The question is what to do? Many have written and commented about great DTs being worth their weight in gold. I would say that is an understatement...even given the current price of gold. DTs can make or break a defense. Anyone remember Tim Tebow and third down and Chavis? It didn't matter the situation, our DTs were not strong enough. There are many other examples that I don't want to relive. We MUST get some stud DTs to build the program. I hope someone has the answer on how to get them to Ktown.

To be fair, NO ONE stopped Tebow. It wasn't just our D-Line.

We are doomed

Everyone here knows that. We are trying to figure out our way out of the abyss.

Do any of you fans believe that this staff will not get some quality DT help in the next 6 months? Really?:horse:

Even if they have to poach kids already committed to another school or go the JUCO route. Relax

You are probably right but history says no. Also, I think the reason people are so worried about this is because everyone knows that if you are going to be a championship level team, the two absolute most important positions to be solid at are QB and DT. Any coach worth their salt will tell you that.
