Right now I would say the coaches, with the exclusion of Barnes, are not in the same category as the ones I mentioned. Good coaching brings SEC championships and thus good talent.

The Lady Vols basketball and softball teams are basically the only top tier representatives of the University of Tennessee. And the BB team hasn't been to the final four for years.

You included Battle? Did'nt you guys run him out of town. Dickey ditched us for Florida after losing to them in a bowl game. Mears was a good coach particularly with Ernie and Bernie, but he only won three conference titles finishing 9th as his highest ranking.

Why don't all you downing the program so much just leave. If your that miserable quit following, if your convinced Tennessee is done quit following. Tennessee still has plenty of fans that will stick with them, even get mad at things but they don't post on it 24/7 spewing the same old crap redundantly. GO VOLS BEAT THE PUPS!!!!

I have been on a team before with a "here we go again" mentality. Here is how I think it happened for UT. They get up 14-0, Arky scores, Medley misses a field goal, arky drives down to score again (I knew the game was over at this point) then they're like here we go again. It's hard to break that mentality of expecting to lose. You feel like everything is going against you and are kinda just numb like "did that really just happen?" Instead of just watching it unfold, PLAYERS need to step up and do something about it. There is no cloud over Knoxville, the haze exists in players, coaches, and fans' minds.

Sweet "if you don't like it...you can get on out" mentality....you know some of us went to school there and there is more to the institution than just football in the fall
