That is good to know. Its always been my favorite piece of equipment in a commercial kitchen. This is my first experience with a Blackstone home unit. I cant say enough good about it.
My only negative is it uses more gas than a grill. Quite a bit more. Something I never paid attention to in the restaurants. I used it almost every night for about an hour a night for a week and burned through a tank. That included the seasoning period which was maybe 2 hours. So 8-10 hours at $20. $2.00 an hour. Approximately.
convenient on time. Right now if I pan fry certain things for me and my family i have to patiently do one then another, and then another. Being able to cook for a family all at once...HUGE time saver. Given how I eat atm, cooking on a skillet with butter is my goto....so being able to get everything done sooner would be huge. BUT Like I said it's not cost or, wether I want one etc, it's space. i already have a small deck, and a large grill. Only way it makes sense is if it becomes something i use 3-4 times a week. Not as convenient as you think. Cleaning is a pain. I think the hinged lid will help.
Hatchet buried.
