When I lived in Knoxville and was a member of First Christian Church downtown, we prided ourselves on finishing up by 11:50 at the latest, allowing us to hit Regas or the Hyatt Regency buffet in a dead heat with the Methodists and Presbyterians.

This was (and still is, in many other churches in other cities that I know) known as Beat the Baptists.

It’s just a church where people who are Christians go to worship and fellowship, including those who are unwelcome elsewhere.

I’m trying to find a picture my brother took of me on an overlook with my hand placed just so to appear to be cupping Mt. Saint Helen. It was taken in 1980, before the eruption.

Also, gay people/couples don't bother me. My nephew is gay and married. I don't love him any less.
