I was thinking that is was the IP address of the server used for the post, but we had a pretty primitive system, and I have definitely slept since then. Tech has marched onwards, as I have been happily left in the dust. 🤪

I am not calling you a liar. But there is Alts. Mods have Alts people that use there cell internet for a Alt and home address for another then there is work IP that can be another Alt then there is VPN's that can be used. So to say there is no Alts is a false claim is all I am saying.

When did I claim that there aren’t any alts??????? There weren’t a lot of alts at my old forum, simply because there wasn’t any point, except for those who had been perma-banned and tried to get back on.

And people who use their laptops, their cell phones, their iPads, their mom’s landlines - these aren’t alts, as long as they are logging in under their own names. As I mentioned above, I thought that the IP address of the server is what showed. That’s how it worked when I checked my own logins from multiple devices. They all had the same IP address, but maybe not these days. Only if someone creates a new username is there an alt, and there are ways to detect them, IF staff wants to and IF the person logging in isn’t using a VPN to mask their IP address.

Maybe detecting and eliminating alts is not a high priority at a forum like VN, with 70 quintillion members and a staff of volunteer mods with better things to do, like breaking up nasty arguments and attacks on players.

My opinion that’s doesn’t amount to squat is that there are alters, but hopefully no altars here in the zone. The alters don’t cause any real harm in this forum, so even if mods know they exist, they don’t do much of anything about them. Coming back from a banned state or as someone else is quite different from being an alter.

This ends VFB’s concern with the matter. I’m disappointed in myself for two reasons:

1. I bought a pre-marinated/season pork tenderloin. I prefer doing that kind of thing myself

2. I was too lazy and sore from yesterday’s workout to ever do much today and never even made said pre-marinated/seasoned tenderloin.

And fwiw, it was the first successful attempt at box jumps in over 27 months (my ankle injury turned PF said F you to box jumps for far too long)
