Popeye's has full court press advertising of their chicken sandwich. Problem is that every Popeye's within a half-days drive is one sorry excuse for a fast food restaurant. Understaffed by rude stressed out cannot-get-any-other-job people, they are unkempt and highly irregular in food preparation and service. Don't trust 'em.

In contrast, the Chick fil A nearest me runs like a well-oiled machine. Even though it does the highest drive-through volume of any Chick fil A in the state, it is clean as a whistle, admirably efficient, and staffed by pleasant and capable people. I'd rather apply a schmear of my own remoulade on a classic Chick fil A sandwich than risk food poisoning from a Popeye's.
