I remember times that I simply couldn’t merge on to the Richmond-San Rafael bridge to go home and had to drive all around the top of San Pablo Bay and come back down through But at least once I headed back down toward Richmond, I was going contra-flow through Vallejo and on 80. I would look at northbound cars in the opposite lanes and think, “poor barstidges.”

While living in Russian Hill I worked for a while in Richmond at Ford Point then Berkeley. I would often take the Richmond San Rafael bridge rather than the Bay bridge.

At least triple the distance and I had to pay two bridge tolls, but it was faster and easier in the nerves.

You know, I honestly can’t remember. I don’t think so. You had to have an electronic pass to register the tolls, and I *think* that the monthly bill was in reasonably even numbers.

I liked them all. Obviously the first one was the best, but 2 was really good and the last 2 with Rene Russo, I used to crush on her, Joe Pesci and Chris Rock were good.
