I believe it is the backstrap. Don't know about the marinade. Wife made it while I was typing on VN!

Some call it backstrap, Ive always called it backstrip, its my favorite of all. I like it better than the tenderloin.

a buddy gave it to me. He's killed like 5 this season and doesn't need anymore venison. CWD has been bad around this county. We didn't go this year

One of my coworkers told me last week that she calls her dog "stupid" so much it thinks that's its name now. I wanted to throat punch her.
