Lulz, I thought Gordy was asking the type of grouper.

I like lightly breaded and fried with onion and tarter sauce best for sammich.

Problem with Blackened grouper for a sammich is if they put too much seasoning its mild enough that it gets lost in seasoning, bread and all the other stuff. Making it at home, yes, Blackened would my choice. But even i can screw that up. Lol.

That Snapper I Blackened was beautiful, but it suffered in flavor because I used too much.
Hands down best salt water finned swimmer treat is blackened redfish. Grouper/Red Snapper/Cobia/Orange Roughy close seconds. Heard Bluefish and Lionfish are great too, but never had the pleasure. Swordfish is really good on grill after a good soak in Italian dressing. Grilled Tuna is also great in a legit teriyaki marinade. Wife's fav is our sons spicy honey/soy/maple smoked salmon.

For the record, a red pepper relish, aplle red pepper relish, or summer squash relish is best served on Butter Peas with a dollop of mayo and pepper. Life changing addition to your taste buds. It was gramps way. He always had butter peas to serve, and never, ever ate them w/o mayo and sweet red pepper relish and a dash of black pepper.

And...if you've never eaten Butter PEAS (not beans)...go away.

In Gwinutia, butter peas are called "hominy."

Lionfish didn't catch on like I'd hoped it would. I love most all fish so name and absolute favorite is hard. At the top in particular order

Arctic char
Golden tile
Monkfish (anglerfish)
Sockeye Salmon
Bluefin and Yellowfin

I like all the ones you listed. I have a love/hate relationship with sword. I don't want it marinated, overcooked or with any bloodline. Thats why I don't eat it often.

I agree about blackened redfish, the right peice seasoned and cooked perfectly is hard to beat as far as blackened fish go.

Not sure I’ve had Golden tile. Love the others, especially Monkfish.

Did a really good Omakase recently. Not the best I’ve had, but very reasonable compared to a lot of places in NYC.

I've told this before but in 2007'ish I watched the movie No Reservations, its probably my favorite restaurant movie.

Her signature dish was scallops with a Lemongrass sauce. Eckhart kept asking what the secret was and she never told him. But towards the end they went in an Asian market and if you're not paying attention you dont catch it, even if you do you're like wtf did she say.

So I played it back with subtitles and got the secret. Was a cool scene.

She never gave the recipe but I made what I thought it would be and served it with tilefish. I dont say I have a signature dish, but if i did that would be it. Its truly amazing.

What did she buy?

Little hateful Vietnamese store owner "you touch you buy". Lulz

Edit: thinking back she might not have been Vietnamese, thats just what she looked and sounded like.

Trying to be politically correct I actually sound more racist lol. Thats where they're from so its safe to say thats what she was.

Haven’t watched that. Need to remember to watch it.

You’re not a fan of Big Night right? That one is up there for me, the cast has a lot to do with that.

Ratatouille is probably my favorite.
