The Crazy Thing No One is Considering: Frost is Still Available

I know we're bitter rivals and all, but I'm truly sorry y'all are going through this bs AGAIN.

Y'all are a great fan base, and the TSIS has depressingly irrelevant for WAYYY too long...You deserve better, Vols fans.

I know it's easy to say this after we (Kinda) got our guy, but I hope you guys get a coach that'll get you truly back on the right track, and that you can TRULY be proud of.

Btw, props to you, VolNation, for making sure that child abuse-enabling, piece of garbage didn't get a chance to sully the name of your great fans, university, and football program.

Well, it’s not a one time deal. Look at every program at the school.

And with all the people out there to pick, you find a guy that damn near starts a riot.

It was literally the worst possible choice. Schiano was not wanted by anyone due to baggage and being subpar. You're right, UT won't be back to its former glory until people at top step aside.

As for my voice. No on Frost.

You have to prove more than he has in my opinion.

He has certainly done a fine job in his time at Central Florida but and he "seems" the part but this is another potential Butch Jones and we can't take the risk with a person who has such a short resume.

Tennessee needs to make a fair amount of splash with this hire or we will wallow in mediocrity for another 5 years.
Seriously? No? You would be great as UT AD.
0-12 to 12-0 in 2 years at UCF
Coached under or played for:
Bill Walsh
Tom Osborne
Bill Belichech
Bill Parcells
Chip Kelly
Jon Gruden
Wanted by UF, Nebraska, and probably several others.
None of this is remotely close to Dooley or Jones.
They were like 100-1 longshots to be above average
He is like 3-1 to be above average

Did you have to say "you"?

The fans didn't hire him.

"They" did this.

I don't think you understand where we're at right now.
We would be incredibly lucky and fortunate at this point to get Frost. That said, he's not going to pick us over Nebraska.

We're not going to be able to be choosy.
We have awful leadership, and we look 'toxic' for walking back on an agreement with a coach.
I'm happy we walked it back, but we're still screwed.

I'll take any competent coach at this point.
We need to seize power away from the Haslams, somehow.

For sake of argument, if you could get him, you should get down on your knees and thank the lord for his kindness and mercy.

But, he’s going to Nebraska

Exactly.

I've been pushing for Jeff Brohm for a while now, well before today.
I'd kiss his feet at this point. But, I can't see Brohm walking into this. He can go 8-4 next year at Purdue and then choose between a sweet raise and his choice of new jobs.

I just saw Chris Low's take on ESPN.
Surprisingly, he was very measured in his brief discussion. He stated the facts of what happened and explained why we protested. He didn't bury Schiano or UT fans.

Lowe said we didn't want Schiano just because he was associated with PSU. He failed to mention "the rest of the story."

I'm sorry, does the AD call the plays? Does the AD put together the game plans? Does the AD recruit the players?

Hire Pee-Wee Herman and you'll have your answer.

A bad hire from the AD affects the team in EVERY way. That's pretty elementary.

There is no way the Huskers would outspend us for Frost. But we are too cheap to overspend on a guy like him.

Ever heard of Warren Buffet?

I agree, UT isn't spending the cash. When the stadium is half empty for the next few years, they may start to listen. Doubt it though.

He didn't rail on our fans and call us toxic.

The host who tossed to him began the segment by taking a jab at the looney group in the corner who held on to the belief that Gruden was coming. I almost changed the channel. I decided to eat whatever Low said, but he was surprisingly measured.

Yeah..is he that involved in Husker athletics? Nebraska is a atletic wasteland with no talent anywhere near it. Tennessee is becoming a legitimate garden of talent. If you are good enough a coach to get em, and coach em, you could win big in Tennessee...Nebraska not so much.

Dude. Stop living a lie. The make a splash hire ship sailed when Currie flew up to Ohio. We are wallowing well below mediocrity for at least five years from this.

The splash we made with this hire is telling the administration go **** yourself. I am proud of that, but it comes with a cost. I knew that cost when I called, texted and emailed A. Department, politicians and Administration.

Time for you to wake to reality. Like the kids in the fairy tale, we are the ones who are really going to be paying the piper for what the leaders did.

THAT involved? Honestly, not sure. However, he is far from the only very wealthy man living in Omaha. I agree, it has to be hard to recruit high profile recruits to Nebraska these days. You would think UT has more resources, but recent events would tell us that may not be true.

You must realize that we are just like Nebraska. We're living in the past. Thinking we're more desirable than we actually are.

Spot on.
That's the truth.
In the end, reality beats a temporary fantasy.

If the AD and his supporters want to emerge from this mess they created, they would be well advised to make a great hire, like Scott Frost. Then all is forgiven. Fans are even warming to Lane Kiffin because we want the best coach available.

Frost is not going to walk into this environment over his alma mater.

Yes, I would take back Kiffin at this point.

Frost will not come to Tennessee unless our people TRY to hire him. They need to recruit him hard. Tennessee is football heaven for a good coach who can win games. They should at least invite him to our campus and show him what we are offering. Then close the deal. I do not want to hear talk about what we cannot do while we are not giving our best effort. Get Frost here. Throw a half nelson on him, and take him to the mat. He'll be glad it happened.

Why would Kiffin be willing to "walk into this environment?" Maybe he wouldn't. We think he would because we know the man has a lot of confidence and is not afraid. Maybe Frost has confidence also. As for Kiffin, he might be fixed to do a good job. I also would take him back.
