The continued Bryce Brown saga (merged)

If this doesn't work I bet BB goes the academics route. He will probably say he didn't feel his education at UT was up to par or something. I think they will stop at nothing to save a few bucks. I think all this is damaging his NFL career before it even starts. NFL teams will remember this if he is good enough and productive enough to get to the league. These will be huge flags, esepecially being homesick. Good luck on BB and his career, but he really needs to stop. He may think this is helping him but it really hurting him most.

He's probably just saying what his attorney has told him to.

This. He's doing everything he can not to have to pay money. What a douscher, his attorney is probably pretty greasy as well.

I guess he saw K State get its fanny handed to it last night and he thinks he can help. Good luck wit that.

Count on 3 things in life:
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. and SGM and Crusse10 showing up to defend Bryce Brown whenever a thread is started on the topic.

His attorney brought in the News Sentinel to take pictures of the giant mansion he built by defending rapists and murderers. He is a real gem of a guy.

It's real easy to make plausible excuses 7 or 8 months after the fact.

None of which is the correct excuse...

Gotta admit I enjoyed watchin Nebraska punk the K State Pinochios last night..didn't see BB though for some reason with all that talent he sat that one out.

I don't understand why we wont release him,

Because Tennessee football isn't a charitable organization. We gave him a free year of college education including housing and meals and he didn't live up to his end of the agreement. We can't release every kid who misses mom and dad.

He did fulfill his end. One year of school paid = one year of football.

Is paying one year's worth of in-state tuition really that much to ask, Brown family?

In this economy especially, I seriously doubt it's easy for them to come up with $15,000.

Wait...I thought this was supposed to be indentured servitude. His sentence was four years, with a chance for 3 if he was really, really good or couldn't make grades.

According to the affidavit signed by Arthur Brown Sr., that includes allegedly seeing former teammates Nu'Keese Richardson, Mike Edwards and Janzen Jackson in an elevator and being made aware the three were "on their way to rob a convenience store" on the night of their arrests. That issue, along with others included in the documents, apparently contributed to his decision not to show up for spring practice and then ask for a release from new coach Derek Dooley this summer, a request that was denied and later upheld during an appeal.
If this is true that Bryce Brown knew of this ahead of the robbery, wouldn't that make him an accessory to the act? He had knowledge of this and did not inform the police of his knowledge of the pre-meditated robbery.

Please don't ever mention this to people who have to pay for all 4 years of college thru student loans and spend the next 20 years paying it off.

Good catch. He should be imprisoned, and then shot.

Disagree. One year of school does not equal one year of football. May not be absolute comparison, but when an employee is hired, the first year is a learning experience, and not much return on investment. You spend up front in hopes of getting better return later.

Brown contributed very little to Tennessee. As a matter of fact, it could be argued he cost us even more because of the circus he created. We would have been better served to have never heard the name, Bryce Brown.

That's a risk you take. If it doesn't work out, you let said employee go, and they are free to find another job. You cut your losses and move on.

QUOTE: 1. “Once other football players did arrive on campus, I quickly realized that I did not fit in with the other players in the football program. 2. My teammates were involved in a range of activities that I was not comfortable being around.”

1. Translation: "Nick Reveiz knocked the crap out of my in one of the first practices and I realized, I didn't fit in."

2. a. Hard work
b. Team spirit
c. Perseverance
d. Integrity - as in, binding LOI
e. Earning what you get
f. Commitment

Yeah, I guess it never was a good fit.

Very well put!:dance2::clapping:
