Unless the reports from a myriad of sources are incorrect, Kentucky will get commitments from Brandon Knight and '11 #1 player Michael Gilchrist tomorrow. Marquis Teague is also likely to commit to UK soon. Pearl and Co. have to make classes like the one they have coming in the norm. Otherwise, they are always going to constantly be on the short end of the talent stick.

Is it better to have some very good ball players who stay with the program as a team, or have a lot of young 1 and done superstars with NFL talent? I have a feeling we are going to have the answer soon. The kitties made a big splash this year, but in the end got no farther than we did in the big dance. They did win the SEC which Calipari said was no big deal. Will be interesting.

I think you will see more and more better recruits coming to Knoxville after the recent success in the NCAA tourney. If not, I can't handle listening to Calipari run his trap about how winning the SEC means nothing. It's very disrespectful to the other teams in the league. Everyone with a brain, knows that winning in the NCAA tourney is pivotal to sustaining a program but in order to get there you have to be successful in your own conference.

According to Jerry Meyer of TOS, Brandon Knight will likely slide down in the Final Rankings. He said Selby, Barnes, Sullinger, and Harris (pre-injury) had a shot at #1. IMO, it will be:
1. Barnes
2. Sullinger
3. Selby
4. Harris
5. Irving
6. Knight

Did any of your sources have an update on Selby?

Not to worry, Bruce Almighty has a way of winning with "inferior" talent when it matters most. It's OK to have equal or lesser talent than the competition when you have a better coach.

To be honest though, wouldn't any team in the county be on the short end of the stick with talentwise when compared to Calipari at a powerhouse like Kentucky? I mean Bruce can do the best job anyone could possibly do and it still wouldn't mean we would take the court with equivalent talent consistently.

Next year is going to be very interesting, because if Cal molds the team he's going to have into an SEC winner it may very well signal they are going to roll over the conference. But there's still a chance they finish fourth in the east, and how often do you have that kind of range in a preseason prediction? You just never know with those young kids, and they don't have Patterson to lean on.

World class players are going to be hard for Cal to recruit when Kentucky gets half of their scholarships stripped.
