Get a smart phone with internet connection. Isnt the Knoxville area only getting arounf 6" of snow? I forgot what it was like to freak out over that little amount of snow. :)

Borrow a portable generator. May not help your internet, but at least you'd have electricity...

If no power - take the day off and drive south, find a sports bar and have a good day. Can you say ROAD TRIP

I would hardly call concern over a potential power outage "freaking out". Here in upstate SC we may be looking at an epic ice storm. I have 3 kids so:
Day 1 with no power - :eek:k:
Day 2 with no power - :unsure:
Day 3 with no power - :no:
Day 4 with no power - :spank::machgun::bash::gun::bash:
Day 5 with no power - :crazy:

OK, we'd hit "Day 5" in about 3 hours, but still.

Snow just started coming down here in Karns/W. Knoxville about 15-20 mins. ago, should be headed towards the Tri-Cities pretty soon.

Didnt mean it just directed at you man. I have all of my family still in Knoxville and they were calling saying they had to get to the store, stock up, etc. Living up here,6" of snow is nothing. Schools are open and nothing closes. It has to snow at least 10-12" for businesses to close. Not cool.

Sorry. I've listened to too many older Yankee transplants and their condescending "I can't believe how much you guys freak out over this." Then they're either the first ones in a ditch (because nobody plows/salts our roads like they're used to), or they die of hypothermia or dehydration because they had no plan in place for a 5-day power outage (that might be just a tad embellished).

Down around Memphis the snow/ice started about 7 o'clock I believe, its supposed to snow/sleet all day till about 12am tonight. This is in Brighton mind you but still a winter storm in the South is crazy.
