What I am about to say is not speculation its reality. I have been a donor for 15 years now and I annually give $4,000 to $7,500. And during this time I have became friends with the majority of the alumni and major contributors. And as sick to my stomach as it makes me these are the cold hard facts from what I have gathered.

1. Zero Chance of a any coaching changes at any position till year end.

2. And this one makes me almost vomit. Coach Fulmer will be our coach for at least 2-3 more seasons.

3. Coach Clawson as well as 4-5 other asst. coaches will be dismissed season end.

4. Tennessee has a short and I mean very short list of any suitable replacements. Mainly because the majority of the head coaches that are capable of running a top notch program have an average age of 52-57. The university has no interest to hire anyone over the age of 45 simply because if a coaching change is made at the top they want someone who can lead the program for a minimum of 12-15 yrs.

5. The University has no intention at this time in spending the $5.25 to $6 million it would cost to buy out the remaining part of Coach Fulmers contract.

6. And as long as myself and the tens and tens of thousands of others kept spending their hard earned money in support of Coach Fulmer no changes will ever be made. That is why after this year I will no longer support the university or Mike Hamilton.

What, is the mob in control up there? Do they purposely want us to suck. I'm calling BS on this post. Cue up the faildozer.

I'm sorry, I just don't buy this. There is no way the AD will take the massive reduction in revenue that will occur if Phil is kept after this year.

You need to look up TRUTH in the dictionary because this sure isn't it. Fulmer is gone.....and the staff.

Why do I have the feeling that this is a legit post?

If so, I can see an argument for all the points except 4 and 5. Everyone wants longevity but I think that you hire the best regardless of age (given good health). And #5 just speaks to commitment.

You know, I often wondered how embarrassing it must have been for Bama's AD to swoon over Saban and return time and time again to offer the job. Now, I just see it as complete and total dedication to making the program relevant again. Who wouldn't want a guy like that for their AD?

Fulmer does have 75% totals wins, there very well could be some truth in this. MH won't fire him i dont think. I do think though that fulmer will be gone at the end of his contracted time.

as for the rest of the coaches, yes thats also probably true.

just like any other rumor posted here, this could be true. or not. some points more likely true than others, like #1.

i'm betting that the situation is primarily going to be evaluated from a business perspective, because that is what college football is -- part of the entertainment business. 20,000 unsold tickets for every home game translates into a loss of about $7mil over the course of one season. faced with that i don't think anyone blinks over a $6mil buyout paid over 4 years.

Ok so that means is, No Butch Davis or Steve Spurrier :p and pretty much narrows the list down to Kiffin and Muschamp, Peterson, Leach and not sure what the ages are of the others that were mentioned in the past...But that's indeed a short list...Interesting

Finally an intelligent post from someone who understands how UT really works ... IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, ALWAYS HAS BEEN, ALWAYS WILL BE ... Until the fan base as a whole understands this concept and stops donating to the FB program (VASF), buying tickets, merchandise, etc., a select few donors like Haslam and Fulmer's buddy from Chattanooga will continue calling the shots in regards to this FB program. WHEN ARE THE REAL FANS GOING TO STAND UP, REVOLT, AND DO WHAT MUST BE DONE TO TAKE THIS PROGRAM BACK TO IT'S PROUD TRADITION? As for me, i practice what i preach. I used to be a VASF contributor of the Silver Victor club. It was evident to me a number of years ago, the program lacked the leadership, passion and discipline necessary to be one of the elite programs in college FB. and my donations stopped ! Unfortunately the majority of the UT fan base has chosen to vent their disapproval through message boards and call in shows, rather than through the mighty dollar, the only thing UT understands. Maybe for the betterment of the program and the university in general, you people will get a clue eventually. God can only hope !

i have heard all the offensive staff (except scott) will be dismissed after this year. chavis and phil will have one more year. and as sad as it is, recruiting may help save CPF.

IMO if Fulmer has a losing season this year he's gone. Not many college coaches can survive two losing seasons in four years, Fulmer is no exception.

The only way that this comes about is because Hamilton is thinking that Auburn, Georgia, and other visiting teams can help him fill his stadium next year. Because local interest has declined weekly this year. Otherwise, it will be shades of the old Thompson Boling arena with a lot of air in the stands.

The first bus out of Knoxville in December should be Fulmer and his entire coaching staff. The second bus should be filled with anyone who has their fingerprints on that contract given to Fulmer last summer.

Thats why they've taken a firm position on it. They back out of that now and they look like even bigger assclowns.
