This board is full of know it all, folks got all the answers. You all are ready to send him packing before the year. I hope he turns this around because the crow to be eaten will take a lifetime!!!
Please, winning makes people forget last week. Les Miles was all but gone, when he faked a 20 yard field goal for the win and the LSU player caught it was a miracle. Had he not caught it he wouldn't been the coach the next week. They may not be forgotten but wins we get him forgiven. He has stocked our roster, we are a much better overall team than at anytime dooley has us. Maybe not in wins but the overall play is much better. How about just letting the season play out before everyone TRASHING the man. The media is bad enough and people like Finebuam don't now any more about football that a 10 year old. GBO!!!

..Yikes
Let's hope we can do some damage in October, starting with the Pigs.
He's always made it by and stayed positive because he moves on after year 3 when the results should show. So after he leaves then the results are never shown and therefore there's no doubts about him overall.
Problem we have is where would he go from us? The teams higher then us won't take him even if there's an opening, at least not at HC. So no matter what we feel we have to stick it out a little longer. Hopefully he comes thru in a big way. Tigers don't change their stripes tho:/
Agreed. I am not 100% sure (as many are) that play calling is the main problem. I have my own theories on it. I could be wrong, but like everyone else, I think I am right. Whatever the root cause is, it is on Butch to solve it. To be less vague, I think Butch and Willie Martinez need to have a long talk.
The only problem I see in this is his assumption that Florida would NEED 3 possessions if the 2-point conversion failed. Here the real potential scenarios:
1.) Tennessee kicks the PAT to go up 27-14. This forces Florida to score 2 touchdowns AND make 2 PATs to take the lead. And Tennessee knows all too well that making PATs is not a gimme, especially in this series.
2.) Tennessee goes for 2, and gets it to go up 28-14. Yes, Florida needs 2 touchdowns and 2 made PATs to tie. This would be ideal, but not always feasible. And I'm not sure Tennessee would've made it.
3.) Tennessee goes for 2 and fails. The score remains 26-14. This means Florida only has to make 1 of 2 PATs after 2 touchdowns to win the game. NOT 2 field goals and and a touchdown. And plus, Tennessee has used one of their, what, 3 2-point plays? What if they needed them in OT?
I agree with that USA Today article that says Jones needs to feel how the game is going and adjust. That's obvious. But I don't completely agree with the statement that he was 100% wrong taking the point. And I don't get the assumption that Florida would need 3 possessions to do anything. None of the possible scenarios makes it an automatic 3 possession game.

As the Cincinnati people warned us:
Butch doesn't think he's ever wrong.
Because Butch is such a great recruiter and motivator, he could be an elite level coach .....If:
He would look at his weaknesses too.
He would just come out and say that he made mistakes when he does.
He would stop talking down to the fan base when he tries to explain football to us instead of just answering simple questions about specific situations.
We are all individuals, as he would say, that know good football.
We Really want any coach here to succeed, of course.
Butch has so many Great qualities.
I just hope that his stubborn streak won't prevent him from improving his in game decision making.
I would hate for us to go thru another coaching change.
Butch - this fan base wants and needs ur success.
Please help us to help you!
Go Vols! Beat Arky!
As shown by my screen name, I've posted quite a few observations about CBJ from my Ohio region. As a VOL fan I was disappointed at the Jones hire because of his tenure as a 3 year and out coach at Central Michigan and UC. But, I was really hoping his energy level and recruiting sales pitches would work out for the VOLS.
I was/still hope he can learn and develop as a top conference coach, but have been disappointed. College football is tough; it's all about the wins. I've not seen CBJ's performance after 3 years anywhere; guess after the extension, would be unlikely he would be out.
Those of us living in Ohio are not surprised. We've already lived through it....I just can it another go-round as a VOL fan.
Your point about Miles faking the FG, that takes balls pardner. Say what you want about Miles but that guys has made huge call after huge call throughout the years. Some had success and others failed. However he had faith in his offense to get the job done. Butch has shown twice this season that he has little to no faith in his offense to make the big calls. Thats sad with this roster.
Stop it with the moral victory crap. If the play is so much better than Dooley, then why is Butchs record almost identical with as you say a much more talented roster. I hope Butch can redeem himself this season, but regardless of what happens, the losses to OU and UF will ALWAYS be thought of as coaching disasters.
Dude all of that is well and good. He can recruit at the highest level, build depth, staff continuity etc and so on. But it don't mean jack if he continues to coach us out of games! I keep hearing this "we are close" BS and while it may be true we will never get there unless CBJ makes a drastic change in his game day management and coaching philosophy! It's not a myth or a bunch of CBJ detractors running around grasping at straws to prove a point, It's fact as witnessed by a qbillion people on Saturday! In my mind, this was going to be an 8 or 9 win season, then another win in the bowl game. 2016 is what I predict to be the good year for us. 2016 is the year that we make an appearance in the S.E.C. Championship game and also will be ranked in the top # 10.
bUTch has: Built a roster! Built some depth at certain positions! Got rid of the dead weight! Held the players accountable! Gave the leadership of the team to the players! Has inspired the players to play hard the entire game! Has got us over the hump to beat USC! Has gotten us a win in a bowl game! Gotten us a winning season!
Next: 10 win season (2015) S.E.C. Championship game (2016) Win S.E.C. Championship game (2017) Play in NCAA play off (2017)
We are sooooo close to taking the next step, of winning the close game, that everyone is anxious and not thinking clearly.
the sky is NOT falling and bUTch will get things straight. He will play Dormady some in every game and develope a passing game. We will have a two q.b. system the rest of this season.
Don't think he's Zook 2.0; saw this comment on the original Clay Travis article...
"Ron Zook beat Tennessee in '02, ruined UGA's national title hopes in '02, beat them again in '03, was Saban's only loss when LSU won a national title in '03, beating the Tigers in Baton Rouge and not allowing them an offensive TD, and beat FSU in '04 on a night they were dedicating the field to their legend Bobby Bowden. Zook was 16-8 in conference play. Butch is 5-12. Tennessee would kill for Ron Zook results right now."
 A little shocking when you look at it like that.
