What is the Bryce Brown Effect?

-it is the statement across the nation that:

#1 -TN football is back!

#2 - As much as Bama, FLA, and other SEC fans are bashing Brown right now; the true feeling around the league was "please go anywhere but TN." The coaches and fans did not want to have to play this kid for the next 3 years. Defensive Coordinators nightmare with everything he is capable of doing in the backfield and the the passing game.

#3 - TN not will but IS a recruiting machine again. Several top prospects(specifically Olineman which is a major need) have already mentioned Bryce Browns recent signing as being "hard to ignore" and that it just helps TN even more in their minds.

#4 - as much as people talk trash about Kiffin and Coach O. They must not ignore them or they will be left behind(similar to Phil ignoring Urban coming from the small time to the big time; therefore leaving us in the wind)

Very valid points....I just want to see the results on the field. Good Post!

Yea it sure is...Whats even better is it only took Kiffin and Co. 3 Months to land the top recruit. The other coaches had 2 years to get to know BB and still couldnt land him.

Great Post!! Kiffin is putting UT back on the map and the SEC is taking notice along with the rest of the country. I love it! Tennessee Wildboyz!!

I love how the other schools that lost out all have their own reasons and excuses why they didn't want him. He's selfish, overrated, won't work hard, a probation waiting to happen, don't really need him, we pulled his offer, he'll mess up team chemistry, and a host of others. The bashing of Bryce Brown knows no boundaries. Props to Eddie Gran, the hero in this whole saga. The recruiting prowess of this staff is going to turn the tables in our favor. We just have to remain patient

I heard a bunch of Oregon fans say Brown was selfish for going to Tennessee, because he said that's where he felt he could succeed the most.

LMAO @ that comment. Yeah, how selfish of him! Going to the place where he felt most comfortable and the place where he felt he could have the most success? How dare he!

I'm sure all those Oregonians turned down that $200,000 per year job and kept that $50,000 per year job because they felt if they took the better job, that would be selfish.

BB oviously must be a talented player to be ranked #1. But the truth is that LSU is the only other SEC team that offered BB a scholarship. I can't speak for other SEC teams, but I do know that Bama had no interest in BB at all. When a player's HS coach says that he considers him to have been a cancer to his team, alot of college coaches just don't want to take the risk. My guess is that some of UT's rivals may actually be glad he signed with UT. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bash BB. Honest I'm not. Heck, he's very good, no doubt. So is Terrell Owens, but I wouldn't want him on my team. BB's HS coach did place the blame on Butler's influence, so maybe BB will be fine once he's away from him. BB may even win the Heisman his freshman year, just like he said he would. It'll be interesting to see how he does.

I could not agree more. I just want to point out from what I am reading, many feel Coach Jim Chaney had a lot to do with landing Brown, and should be given his due credit.

LSU wasn't the only SEC school that offered, they were the only other SEC school that had even the slightest chance of getting brown. He had eliminated alot of the schools his junior year. He has been a top prospect since his sophomore year. His brother gave him all the exposure he needed. They might not say it publicly but im sure every other SEC school would've love to have Mr. Brown.

My friends, we are officially back! Brown is the type of player that put the offense on his shoulders and beat teams like UF and UGA. Don't forget about Oku, Nuke and maybe even Teague. These are the kinds of athletes UT needs to bring in on a regular basis...just pure playmakers. We have what it takes to beat any team in the nation, incluing Fla, with the talent we have on both sides of the ball. If our o-line can just improve upon last year, which I think they will by leaps and bounds, then watch out because one of our QBs will be studs with these playmakers around them. Don't forget about Jones and Moore as well at wideouts. Gerald Jones is one of the most underrated players in the SEC.

first of all, Bryce has never been in any trouble. he has also defended himself, regarding his coach, but no one really pays attention to that. he is guilty by association with Butler, period. as far as other teams being glad he signed with UT.....watch his highlight clips.

My feeling is with Brown on board it may help sign some o-linemen and QB's next year. Especially if he lives up to the promise and the hype.

I'm pretty sure NO ONE is happy we have the #1 playa in the nation except us, IMHO. I just can't picture any opponent saying yeah, we don't want the #1 effin playa in the nation. I would think it may have more to do with a school's situation at that position. Or the fact that they knew they weren't on Brown's radar at all. That is the difference with this staff vs. some other school's, they simply won't take no for an answer.:clapping:

That's just crazy. How much easier do you think it is to run on the average PAC-10 D vs. the average SEC defense? He could put up HUGE #'s there.
