I probably wasn't supposed to post this but all this rehire Pearl talk has to stop because he has no interest in working for UT. Its Jimmy Cheek and the higher ups that Bruce doesn't like, its not us.

There is a reason Bruce and Tony are still around. There is a reason Hackney hired Bruce. I feel confident in how this will play out and someone saying they know his son and that he won't be back is ridiculous.

I can buy that but BP doesn't have to like Cheeky to want to be here or to decide to return home. In fact, he's given zero indication he has any interest other than being here at home. I know what you're saying about Cheek and the admin but his heart is here and if BP got an offer I believe he'd jump at the chance despite whatever issues he may have with higher ups (those issues are always gonna happen at any school). Fulmer is the same way, and setting aside of the forever ongoing fan debate about him, there's no doubt that his heart was and remains orange and despite how he was treated he would've returned in a heartbeat.

Exactly. Once you become a VFL and bleed orange, and Bruce and a lot of others on staff certainly did, it never goes away. Not even if you dislike a few admins. Knoxville's home for Bruce and it will be on the AD if we let him slip away/send him into exile.

I've already mentioned Fulmer but Johnny Majors is the same way. Johnny didn't get done dirty given the player issues and other personal issues/problems that meant he had to go but he sure thought and felt like he was and still does yet you couldn't keep Johnny Majors away if you built a wall.

When you love this place, you'll always love it. It doesn't happen to everyone (most never truly fall in love with UT the way some do) but when it does happen all you want to do is be back at UT.

UT athletics have been in a moribund state since the days of Mike "Hambone" Hamilton.

You'd like to think that anywhere is up following the worst AD in Tennessee history.

We'll know soon, possibly before Spring arrives.

AD Dave Hart can make an easy, slam-dunk decision in Spring: rehire Bruce Pearl.

If he doesn't one of our rivals will. This is a no-brainer. The UTAD let Bruce Pearl down three years ago, and it's time to rectify that mistake.

If AD Hart does not rehire Pearl (and he won't) then we have progressed not one iota from the disaster of Hambone Hamilton.

Truthfully, I want Zo gone and Pearl back, but what Tony Jones is doing is low class. You don't talk about someone else's job publicly while they're still employed.

If he doesn't rehire Pearl then the curtains will be back up next year. I hope Hart will stop the bleeding our team is experiencing.

He isn't currently coaching and can publicly tweet as he pleases. All he's said is "stay tuned" and some vague apology.

With that said, he's quite the buffoon.

Bruce Pearl is 54 years old as of next month and coming off a 3 year show cause penalty from the NCAA...If he is interested in coaching again it is unlikely that he could do much better than Tennessee. It is not like he was very popular within the profession even prior to the show cause penalty (hence why it took him so long to get a shot with a major program in the first place). What is he going to do if he does get an offer from Tennessee? Turn it down so he can continue working for HT Hackney and ESPN on the weekends? I find that hard to believe.

Three reasons they are still around. 1. where would they go? No college would hire them [until this year]
2. They both love the east Tennessee area.
3. Bruce did not want another Divorce!! Because his pretty wife is the boss lady!
