Like we didn't overachieve Martin's first year. First of all we've only played one game, and it was on the road. Secondly, outside of Jordan; we lack athleticism. We lack size also. Yeah, the bruise brothers have muscle, but they lack length.

Hence : the problem- I don't care for the NCAA and there Arbitrary Punishments - But they are judge and jury - here is a question for everyone - you Are in your driveway and listening to sports talk on the radio with Coach Martin on next - Do you turn off and go inside or do you stay and listen? What is your answer if Coach Pearl is on next?

You, sir are absolutely correct. With Jerry Green or Pearl as the head coach, we would be headed to the NCAA.

Good question. I think most would answer to go in the house on the first and sit and listen for the second because one coach has done some amazing coaching jobs and the other nothing.

Never in the history of this nation had a person been President who wasn't either elected as President or Vice President.

Then Gerald Ford became Vice President when Agnew resigned. Then Gerald Ford became President when Nixon resigned.

That was a first also.

I have tried my best to like CCM and accept his style because he has won a lot games but if he doesn't make it to the Big Dance with these players, then he never will. That being said, a change will probably have to be made. I just don't think that CCM is gonna get it done here but I would love to be wrong.

As for as Pearl goes, I was a huge fan of his and was proud that he was our basketball coach. Was very disappointed when all of that stuff happened with him(no need to go into that). Aside from that, he won a lot games and had the Vols in the Big Dance every year he was the coach. He electrified this fan base and put UT basketball back on the map. Would I support his return? Yes, I would. Not that I believe that's gonna happen.

One would not even know Tn has a coach until he calls one of his, why in the hell are you calling a timeout now for. Martin is the most boring coach I have ever seen. At least he could do is act like he knows what he is doing instead of sitting there looking clueless and removing all doubt.
Not saying Bruce will never get hired back but one thing is for sure, he will be a 100% upgrade. Bruce has served his penalty after this year and he will be free to coach where ever he wants. I would much rather watch him at Tn than watch him against Tn. Would you people rather see him at Memphis with all the talent there or at Tn ? Then the fans at Tn would be crying for UT to stop the series with Memphis.
Ever wonder why Bruce never left Knoxville ? It could actually be because of his wife or it could be that the money booster told him to wait it out. You never know.

Common misconception. Show cause was 3 years starting in September 2011. It ends in September 2014. That means that any school that hires him before that time is subject to NCAA penalties.

Pearl isn't going to be hired by anyone for at least another 16 months.

A school could get approval after the seasons over, even though it's September. Been done before. He would likely be restricted as far as recruiting but that doesn't mean his staff couldn't.

Actually the three year show cause was handed down on August 23, 2011.

I think there are so many Vol fans that would get behind this statement--I know I would. I saw CBP in the airport and shared a plane ride with him (ORD to TYS) a few weeks ago. I said hi. He looked like was doing well. He had a bunch of binders full of basketball material.

If any team hires pearl before his show cause is up, the university has to go before the NCAA and is subject to receive punishments.

Nothing is wrong with me, but BP was Tennessee Basketball when he was our coach. Martin is a nice guy, and a decent recruiter, but our teams usually under preform with him as the head coach. Bruce Pearl made his mistakes and is paying the price for it. If the Vols don't make the 2A Tourney this year, it will be time to reevaluate Martin. The Vols are expected to make the tourney every year, that is the standard set by Pearl, and that's why he has so many loyal fans!

Agree! I say following Pearl is tough, should have hired a veteran coach. Let CCM "learn" to coach somewhere else. He can coach defense and that's it. Blame it on Hart. It's not CCM's fault UT hired the wrong man!

I've long been a "no way Pearl comes back" guy. And I support Martin as long as he's coach.

I don't think he will ever come back; however in light of how the NCAA has shown how ridiculous they are with Miami, wouldn't it be a nice "bite me" to the NCAA to hire back Pearl if Martin doesn't get it done and Pearl is ready? Kind of like "Yeah morons, we're going to pretend you didn't overreact."

Again, not going to happen.
