There's only been one coach in D-I history who got another D-I job after a show-cause. Todd Bozeman...and the job he got was Morgan State.

Pearl is cut from the same mold as Kelvin Sampson but doesn't have 1/2 his coaching ability. No one of relevance is going to be desperate enough to take on someone with his baggage.

Look man, if we look like this next year too and there are no improvements, and we don't contend for the SEC, I'll want him gone too. That's a promise.

I'd favor total abolition of the program before bringing Pearl back. That's what we'd effectively be doing anyway, because the NCAA would be camped right outside his office and would nail him at the first (with him, it's inevitable) screw-up.

Pearl is not coming back but I hope we don't make any decision bc we are scared of the NCAA .....screw those idiots.

Next year's team should be talented enough that Buzz Peterson would get in the NCAAT, IMO. So my expectations are higher than sneaking into the tournament as a bubble team and out in the first round.

Martin will make it and get a raise/extension next year. Just hope it doesn't hurt us two years and onward from now.

However, I'd take Bruce back in a heartbeat at anytime.

Watching him on espn this morning got me thinking. First of all, this man flat out knows the game of basketball (we all know that). The way he analyzes the game is incredible.

I started thinking that after the show ban is over, teams are going to go after him. I know he has said that he doesn't want to coach anymore but that's just PR talk.

Who do you think goes after Pearl? What would prevent Hart from talking to him? Would Bruce coming home to Knoxville not be one of the greatest and most humbling home comings in sports history?

Leaving coach Martin out of the conversation, what do you think happens to coach pearl in 2014? He said he was VFL on national tv one week ago. His interest is there.

I hate the hypothetical game but its going to be a long off season so might as well start it now.
