Wtf? That is not cool brah!

Seriously though, my initial point was why argue it when you know they are not going to change their minds? It just seems like you are driving yourself crazy trying. It actually started out trying to get you and BTO to see you are wasting your time, Somehow that morphed into me being pro Pearl. Lol

That's it. You're now pro-Rick.

Probably because it is fun and annoys all you rational people.

If we can't find a good, name coach to come in (i.e. we get rejected or go cheap), then I would rather Pearl come back.

He would not be my first choice, but I'd take him over another Martin.

I agree, but I don't see us throwing a lot of money at anyone. Which sucks cause I prefer basketball over football.

All I know is that two months ago, Vol fans couldn't wait for the BB season to start - we had Maymon back to go with 2 talented and experienced players, Stokes and MaRae and a highly recruited frosh, Hubbs III. The talk was not whether we'd get to the Dance, that was a given. But whether we'd win the SEC, and if we'd make the Sweet 16 or go even farther.

Now, 10 games into the season, I don't see anyone talking about the Big Dance or the Sweet 16. I don't see anyone saying this 6-4 team is playing up to its potential. We've had a slew of BB coaches over the past 2 decades. Only one of them was able to mold players into a team and get the most out of their talent. It was not Cuonzo Martin.

Well stated.

The funny thing is all these lists, with these hot shot names. This ain't UCLA basketball, this is Tennessee basketball. Those guys wouldn't even give us a look. Pearl was lightning in a bottle. What a shame how UT let Alabama Slive and the NCAA bully them over such a little thing.

Are you referring to Howland? Or Marshall?

Outside the fact that he would resurrect Vol basketball post haste, there are four other compelling reasons to justify bringing back Bruce Pearl that would put a smile on the face of any Vol fan:
Calipari would hate it.
Donovan would hate it.
Haith would hate it.
Baldy over at Vandy would stain his shorts.
No other coach we might bring in would have such an immediate impact on the opposition. Watching those four (not to mention other SEC coaches) go into meltdown would be priceless.

I think there are plenty of basketball coaches that can win here not named Bruce Pearl. Fans are just going to get over that garbage. I understand the Pearl love but he did himself in here.

I'm sure there are. The vast majority already have better jobs than Tennessee.

Meanwhile, we have a proven winner living here in town who is currently "working" for HT Hackney and ESPN.

Or I guess we could roll the dice on another discount coach ....

You're pissed we didn't get gruden? Tressel? Stoops? Lol you don't always get the pick of the litter and Hart took his time and made a great hire.

Honestly, I want this staff fired too, but what as the AD done to deserve to be canned? Wow

Hart screwed up the opportunity to hire his first, second and third choice and backed into a good hire....

If Coach Jones starts winning like he iis recruiting, he may become a great hire

77% of VN and every booster I've talked to wants him back. Vocal minority on this board has no clue how mediocre TN basketball was and is without Bruce. This ain't a basketball school, get off your high horse and welcome Bruce back with open arms if you want to see good basketball again.

If UT's basketball program has always sucked, then explain how Bruce has only the 3rd highest winning percentage at UT.

Only one was fired and charged with lying to NCAA investigators, handed down a show-cause penalty and was effectively been blackballed by the coaching profession too.

It was not Cuonzo Martin. Or Buzz Peterson, or Jerry Green, or Kevin O'Neill.

See how that works both ways?

This delusional Bruce Pearl talk is unreal. I can't believe how many people are actually actively campaigning the idea.
