The Boo Carter hate needs to stop.

I wish it weren't so... but what you suggest is a formula for NOT being competitive for the best HS players. Maybe you can do it all with the portal. No one has made that work at a championship level yet... but maybe.

I actually agree that it is a slippery slope when you start to make accommodations for players like those two. You have to some how balance on that greased wire.
Fulmer is still wondering what went wrong after Kelly Washington. I still believe that was the seminal point in his career.

Wrong. Fanbase has a lot to do with it. Does he want an easy life in Knoxville and to be welcomed back anytime he pleases after his playing career? Do things the right way and you will always have opportunities in this city and even state. It’s bigger than football sometimes.
At that age and considering he's got NFL physical tools plus the money through NIL, I don't think he's even considered that even as a passing thought. Don't disagree with you at all, but I can't see it being something Carter is the least bit interested in at this point in his life.

I think the fact that UT mic’d up mama is a sign. They are trying to put her in a place where she can support her son, and minimize the crazy. Savvy move by UT, in my opinion.

Not gonna shed a tear for a kid making 900k this year getting ripped by the fans over his offseason grabassery
Lord knows I never did anything stupid when I was his age. Add in the “no Father” option; him being a very talented and undisciplined athlete; a crazy mama; and a bus load of enablers, and you have the recipe for a disaster. We’ve seen many of them before. I cannot throw the first stone here.

Boo may or may not end his college career at Tennessee. But while he is here, let’s get the best out of him that we can.

And he promptly passed that game ball away to Beasley.

Yeah Boo is not all there as in bought in. He still likes his teammates but he’s not on the same page and the team knows it.

And that’s fine. Some situations just can’t be fixed.

I agree fans need to stop bashing him though. It doesn’t make anything better what so ever…
Turrentine immediately tossed it back to Heupel.

Ok buddy

I mean he’s not wrong though. There’s money and all that comes with it and there’s legacy. Kid is from here, if he plays to his potential he probably never has to buy a beer or meal in the state. Probably would always have an opportunity as well even if football doesn’t work out at the next level. At some point on the FAFO journey, you go from Booooo to Who.

He makes good athletic football plays. He is an extraordinary talent. He could be talked about as the nation's top player... if his preparation work had matched his talent.

I saw him misaligned and out of position on several of their pass completions. I don't really have a bias for or against him as a person. I am strongly biased FOR him as a player. He's just not as good as he would have been had he prepared and worked as hard as the others.
He’s the type of player NIL hurts long term. If he wasn’t getting paid what he is he would be grinding it out to be a first round pick. Now that he’s already been paid he can just get by on talent alone and have a good time

I haven't heard anyone say they hate Boo.

To me, he's young and immature. It shows up from time to time. He needs to listen to the critics and make the improvements. Then he will be fine.

I've seen young men in the army who were like Boo turn into the best war fighters in the unit once they get focused.

He obviously has talent. Just needs to get focused. Hopefully that happens tonight!

Go Vols.

some people you can’t help.

Boo has been like this for a very long time.
That’s all I’m going to say.

Heupel is genuinely interested in helping him. But he’s trying to get him out of a deep hole.

It’s not as simple as we as fans think it is.
The hate definitely doesn’t help, but I understand why it exists. He’s a distraction and I wish they would give Merrit or Poteat at look at NB.

Shout out to Edris Farooq for balling out at safety!
I really hope he is here next year. The main reason being that it would mean he’s turned a corner as a person. Josh may see a good kid inside the nonsense, who has had an unfortunate upbringing. We can’t choose our parents. Maybe he can pull the man out of him. That is, after all, a job of these coaches.

I also hope that Jourdan Thomas can make a full recovery next year so we can have that position covered, whether Boo is here or not.

He has a chance to be a great turnaround story.

The moment fans money contributed to kids staying, was the moment the kids have to toughen up. This isn't 2013 where only donors/coaches are funding recruits. People have invested into the program, even if it's 25, 50, or 100 dollars a month.. You don't think business owners get critiqued for the jobs they do? Well these players are making business owner money now.
I seriously doubt the vast majority of the fans hating on Boo invest a dime into the team. They drink their Mich Ultras and watch from the sofa and think they now have a legitmate reason to bitch due to NIL.

Boo is a phenomal talent who is still learning the craft at this level. It is a shame he cant be a saint like all the haters were at 20 years old.

I get that but he said he needs to earn the fans respect back like hes entitled to it just because he wears orange

What is the "no father" option? I thought his father had coached him in multiple youth sports?

At this point, it’s pretty obvious he’d rather be playing for Deion than Heupel.

His teammates seem to be over him by now so I won’t be shocked to see him at Colorado next year.

I don’t think he’s worth the headache anymore imo.
