The Boo Carter hate needs to stop.

People keep saying he does not look locked in on twitter, others are saying bench him... The kid is literally one of our best players on D. He will 100% be playing on Sunday if he stays out of trouble. If he gets in trouble cut him, but if you don't like him, or his so called attitude, well keep your mouth shut, let the damn coaches handle it, because we need him, end of story.
He's not playing well on D. The speculation for why stems from his actions and lack of commitment in the off season.

He's an elite talent to be sure. But he was involved in a lot of those coverage busts. Maybe if he'd been in the film room and working with his team mates this summer he would have been better prepared. I don't know anything about his "attitude" however I have to believe if the two starting CBs were healthy his role wouldn't be what it is.

Says who? Are you on the team? The player leadership council? The coaching staff? No? Then maybe let those people handle it. If anyone in those groups thought he would hurt our culture he wouldn’t be on the team just like Nico.
You're right. Maybe next summer five players will say I can act just like Boo and have no repercussions. Then more the next summer. It's entitlement. Nico being a culture problem is because our staff created it by promising a high school volleyball player millions for doing nothing. Then we're shocked when he wants more money after leading us to the playoffs?

Create a culture where kids earn their NIL instead of a culture where kids feel entitled to everything.

PFF grades players throughout NCAA and NFL..Their grading scales and evaluations are HIGHLY respected by college and pro personnel...They see Carter as an outstanding secondary player, with their score for him after the UAB game the highest of all Vol secondary players...

Feel free to check his rating from other games as well..

Carry on.....

His mother was mic'd up for UAB game and UT football posted over 3 minutes on Twitter. Very supportive of the team. Showed him with her in stands after game doing their special handshake.

He needs to earn the fanbases support and respect back imo.

And he’s not having a great season on defense at this point.
The fanbase ain’t got **** to do with it and never has. It’s the team and coaches. Posting here has 0 effect on the team despite how much we want it to

Have you seen where that kind of culture has ol Dabo right now

Maybe if he would stop being nonchalant on punt returns we would stop complaining. That’s the bare minimum expectation of the return man. Just catch the damn ball.

Boo is a VOL and I support all our players and VFLs. He is getting his feet back under him on defense, lead the team in tackles and forced 2 fumbles last week. He will get better in coverage the more he plays, he is obviously very talented. Hes a great returner just has to hold onto the ball. Hope he houses one vs MSU this week. He can be an amazing punt returner and change the game for us from back there as long as he doesnt lose the ball. GO VOLS. GO BOO. WGWTFA

I did. What's your point? He again missed assignments and busted coverage. His raw athleticism shines through often.

If he put in elite preparation to match his elite talent... he'd be talked about as the best player in the country.
He forced two fumbles, a sack, three tackles for loss, and a punt return that was 35-40 yards!
I didn't see any truly busted coverage.

Capitalism's foundation is built on investing in the future of projected earnings. Him being a QB rated as he was, if he lived up to expectations, would have brought in millions more than we spent. Like the stock market not all investments can come to fruition. Simple as that. The culture is fine.

He makes good athletic football plays. He is an extraordinary talent. He could be talked about as the nation's top player... if his preparation work had matched his talent.

I saw him misaligned and out of position on several of their pass completions. I don't really have a bias for or against him as a person. I am strongly biased FOR him as a player. He's just not as good as he would have been had he prepared and worked as hard as the others.

I wish it weren't so... but what you suggest is a formula for NOT being competitive for the best HS players. Maybe you can do it all with the portal. No one has made that work at a championship level yet... but maybe.

I actually agree that it is a slippery slope when you start to make accommodations for players like those two. You have to some how balance on that greased wire.

Wrong. Fanbase has a lot to do with it. Does he want an easy life in Knoxville and to be welcomed back anytime he pleases after his playing career? Do things the right way and you will always have opportunities in this city and even state. It’s bigger than football sometimes.
