Dooley says it wasn't blocked, Palardy kicked it up the center's rear.

Franklin says it was blocked and the referees acknowledged that but said the referees told him only the person who blocks the kick can hit the kicker.

I was at the game so i couldn't tell. Anyone have a video of it or did you all see what actually happened. Unbiased opinions please.

The player that ran into Palardy, whiffed on the ball. The kick was "blocked" by defensive lineman.

If Cody was there it would have hit him square in the boob.

Dooley is basically saying it was a terribly low kick.

Richardson did not touch the ball. Correct call.

...Palardy is still pissing me off though. This is years now that we have been kicking too damn low.

Alright thanks for the clarification. That play had me so confused and i could not find any video highlights to actually see what happened.

Not sure who blocked it but the player that hit the kicker never touched the ball

Yes, the player who ran into Palardy never touched the ball. The replay was nasty, coulda blown out Palardys knee.... Don't say it!

Did you see that it was blocked though?

Dooley said they didn't block it, Palardy just kicked it and it nailed our oline.

Dooley was figuratively describing a terribly low kick.

Reminds me of the line from Tin Cup: "shooting chili peppers up Lee Janzen's ass"

I think Dooley is right. The guy who hit Palardy DID NOT block it for sure. Now for kicking up the centers rear...that could be true. His footing looked like crap and looks like he was pooching it with the inside of his foot. Don't know if this is the proper way but from my experience that type of kick doesn't go straight up like a fg shot should. IMHO.

The guys on sports source this morning said it hit a )-lineman in the back. The Vandy player arms went over the ball, it was kicked so low. But you have to give Dooley credit. We went back out after that on 4th and goal and Rogers make a great catch to tie the game. I hope the kicker we have recruited can kick field goals next year.

Yea, it was almost blocked by our snappers a$$!! Reminded me of Bama 09 all over! One of the Dlinemen did get an arm on it tho for the block, it was a brutally low kick!!

We used to have just solid field goal kickers. Seems like Lincoln and now Parlady don't know how to elevate the ball.

I don't know what it is with UT and kickers. Put the guy back in they got off the couch that was half drunk.

The only person that can touch the kicker is the guy who blocks it, if anyone touches him it is running into the kicker.

it was blocked by a defensive lineman who made zero penetration. Palardy just kicked it into his face if I saw it right.

I'm pretty much done with Palardy. At least the frat boy can keep his kickoffs inbounds. Palardy's kickoff out of bounds was unbelievable. He doesn't have what it takes mentally, in my opinion.

Watching the whole 2nd again cause everything in questioned during this game went on in the 2 nd.

Here's the deal...it was blocked by #58 of Vandy. But it was very low. The big boy barely had his toes of the ground, if that much, and it hit him in the forearm. It would have hit our guy in the head if he was standing straight up at the time.

Yes, his foot hit way too high on the ball. It was like cold topping a golf ball. U-g-l-y

2 things...

After watching the end of a couple games after ours...most other kickers seem to kick field goals MUCH HIGHER, like they're hitting with a 9-iron...Palardy seems to have a 4-iron leg.

Also, noticed on the slow-motion replay...that he appeared to over-run the kick...it looked like his right leg planted beyond the ball, which, NO DOUBT, would cause a LOW KICK.

Did anyone else see this? Do we have anyone working with our kickers on fundamentals at all?

I don't know if Eric Russell knows anything about kicking or not? I think he was a QB when he played. Has some good thoughts on coverage / angles but doubt that he knows much about the actual art of kicking a football.

Personally, I want to brag on the coaching staff. They let Darr do all the punting! And so Palardy can focus on the field goals. That is exactly what they need to do. I hope they do the exact same thing at Kentucky.
