For 34 years I have loved this football program and honestly never had a feeling of complete apathy. That is quite a statement when you look at what we have endured as a fanbase for a decade plus. I have always looked ahead to the next recruiting class or the hope that the university will finally make a legitimate commitment to
winning championships but the reality is I can stand no more.

For me this is not just about this one game, it is a culmination of the past 15 or so years that has been hard to take. The truth is I was fortunate as a kid to witness a program that was a perennial contender and I certainly did not have the perspective at that age to realize how much I should appreciate it.

The brutal reality is the only two answers are stability and a real commitment by those in power to be elite. At this point we have neither. I also think that a program ran by VOLS is the real answer but what I think doesn't matter and maybe I'm wrong. There is just a lack of PRIDE in what that T stands for.

We are outmanned at this moment and I think we all understand that but we are completely outcoached and schemes are pathetic and that's what is hard to take.

My question: If we had put together a staff of former players and coaches with strong ties to this program when we were Elite would we be enduring this?

This is TN. No matter who was coaching, when the team shows up not ready to play, people wanna know why.

I don’t think we have a former player ready to be a HC in the SEC.

But, first order of business. Kick a certain booster family to the damn curb and make a commitment to hire an established HC.
It would be worse than what we have seen this far?

I realize my money doesnt matter to a university with plenty of it,but I spend my hard earned money to go to about 2-3 games a year from Atlanta and I never had a problem with it because I love tennessee so much but after going to Charlotte and seeing that debacle and watching tonight it's a hard pill to swallow I got tickets to 2 more games this year and will go because I probably couldn't give them away but next year and year after I will not attend until they can put forth the effort we do as fans.

The University needs to lose some revenue to force change.

This is a question for everyone who doesn't agree with the OP. If time and stability aren't the answer, then what is?

This is what happens when you have people in leadership roles who don’t give a **** about UT football. They are perfectly happy with this dogshit. This is why they hire bargain bin coaches. As long as people keep putting their ass in seats, the leadership will continue to not give a ****.

Ok then what's the answer?

That’s the problem. We are so far away from being a top program again it’s depressing. A good start is to say **** you to Haslam. We don’t need his money.

Agreed. But for that to happen more donors would have to give more and I don't see that happening

The truth is we beat ourselves this game. Period. Sucks. Problem is. Even if we don’t beat outselves going forward, the majority of the teams we face aren’t just way better than us. 3-9. Painful.

OP, i feel your pain, i have been a vols fan for 38 yrs. I wasn't just a fan because they were good but because they brought a level of pride to the field.

I am not sure a coaching staff of former players is really the answer but should bring more pride back. A former player would make some of these guys earn the right to wear orange. As in take all their gear at the end of the game and make them earn it back.

Obviously, I am disappointed in lots tonight but one thing that stands out...

The gaytar that intentionally crawled and hit JG in the knew. Trey Smith stood there and watched it happen... do something, jump on the guy, hell kick him after that low blow on your teammate and quarterback.. WTF

That's right man.. I thought the same thing.. We are soft as Charmin man.. Hit somebody in the mouth. We are just getting punked week after week.. NO PRIDE IN POWER T especially with a bunch of outsiders running things for 15 years now

That attitude that Banks just had is what I am talking about.. We are getting hammered in Neyland and instead of celebrating after a TD like we have won something he went straight to the sideline still pissed off that we are getting punked
