The bitch thread, what's your beef?

"Dangerfield's" was the venue for an HBO show which helped popularize many stand-up comics, including Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Tim Allen, Roseanne Barr, Jeff Foxworthy, Sam Kinison, Rita Rudner, Andrew Dice Clay and Bob Saget. - Wikapedia

"I grew up in a tough neighborhood. The teacher sent a letter home that said 'please excuse Johnny from school for the next 5 to 10 years." R. Dangerfield

Software programmers who think my design is wrong even though they have no concept of what our company even does. I've spent 6mos talking with the business to design this project so just shut up and write the code! :banghead2:

May not mean much to some people but I just had to vent a bit

Come on, Dangerfield. I come from the Church of Al Czervik and Dr. Vinnie Boombotz.

My dad was a big fan of Caddyshack and I used to always watch it with him. I guess it just stuck with me. When I got older I would watch those old reruns of him and start-up comics he was introducing to the business on HBO. I can't remember the name of the show, I think it might have been Dangerfield's Big Show or something to that affect. I want to say it was at his own Comedy Club named "Dangerfield's" as well.

Anyway after seeing that I just grew an appreciation for his style. He was a one liner genius. I love a joke that makes you laugh longer than it took to deliver. His jokes were (Rest In Peace) funny but his mannerisms just took it all over the top, well at least for me.

That's my reasoning behind it. In a nutshell.

Good enough! Do you ever sleep?

How was your birthday, PJ?

Someone put a sign on the Pepsi machine for the vending machine man saying "please put more water in the machine, it sells out consistently". I have a beef with this. You realize we have a kitchen with a sink that has a limitless supply of water, do you not? No mister vending machine man, DON'T put more water in the machine. I can't get the faucet in the kitchen to dispense cola.

hey I'm getting ganged up on here.

We'll just add that to the bitch list too :cray:

Thats another thing that tics me off - birthdays... I get another one this tuesday. The dang things keep comming around every year, year after year. It just gets old.... Come to think of it so do I.

Atkins is my bitch of the day.

And on a side note, I almost get sad to not see one of PJs dramatic encounters in his office everyday, sorry PJ, but it's hilarious :birgits_giggle:

So you get old...then you get old again...:p

Well I posted in TTTWND that our power went off this morning. Being IT we really need to be up at all times so both our buildings have generators in case of a power outage. The bldg I work in has basically 2 sections- 1 for the analysts and programmers (where I sit) and 1 side for all of IT support. The support side would be the one that really needs power all day so they can help our 20k+ users with their issues.

Turns out there are 2 separate generators for each side of the bldg and ours worked great. However the one for support did not and it took the facilities dept about an hour to figure out they were out of gas. By the time they got back the power turned on but I found it hilarious. Even funnier since the same exact thing happened 2 years ago during hurricane Isabelle. I guess proper testing is not in the budget.

How's that one Volnissniss? :)

Awesome! Thanks PJ, I can now go to lunch with a giggle :birgits_giggle:

after driving 500+ miles yesterday
my bitch of the day deals with interstate drivers

don't drive less that 75 in the left lane

if you want to observe the speed limit or drive less than 75 stay in the right lane
I like the cruise control on 79 and let's get on down the road

I bet you love it when someone is going 50 in the right lane and gets in the left lane infront of you to pass the person in front of them going 50 as well, taking forever to pass.:birgits_giggle:

I haven't actually had to "push" anyone out of the way
but the thought has crossed my mind

usually folks move over, but the one's that don't drive me crazy

I lived in Germany for 3 years, and they are the best drivers in the world, it's actually illegal to pass on the right

Truck drivers on i-40. I realize that truckers work long hours, but I have never made the trek to Knoxville without seeing my life flash before my eyes because of a trucker swerving out in front of me.

agreed
happened to me twice yesterday, and I'm driving a GMC Denali XL, so it's not like they can't see me

When are you getting a Ford Focus?

this should probably go in the politics forum
see I have a different philosphy on fuel usage

I think everyone should drive SUV's and mfg should lower fuel economy

we need to use every drop of oil the middle east is sitting on as quickly as possible

this would solve alot of other problems
