I think it was John Major’s that said win at home split on the road but that’s not realistic anymore since the playoffs system is in place. Unless of course you are content (as I am not) to be an average to above average team, it’s okay. I think we got a legitimate shot at Bama this year 50/50 but UGA still out in front of everyone imo. The Florida game is there for the taking no doubt. So agree or not I’m sticking to my early prediction of bringing it all home this year , the stars, they are aligning. No?

Will only go down as the biggest win in the last decade if we don't crap the nest and win the rest of the games we should win this year.

Yes, I still have painful memories of the last "biggest win in a decade" in 2016 when we beat UGA on the hail Mary....only to turn around and get drummed by USCe and VANDY....VANDY!!!

Beating a ranked team on the road, when Tennessee played relatively badly on offense, is huge. They never gave up and in the second half the defense took it to Pitt. Really encouraging win. The offense needs to get cleaned up though, luckily we have the Akron game to do just that. I am one of those guys that has BVS though, the last 15 years has beaten me down pretty badly. I am moving forward with cautious optimism hoping not to get my hopes crushed again.

No matter how bad LSU is this year, I think coming home from their place with a W would go a long way toward removing the mildewy Dooley/Jones/Pruitt stink around here. But still, lets handle our business with Akron, and then the lizards, first. Not to discount beating Pitt at their place, we showed heart, a punishing, attacking D, and ZERO quit. That's still pretty dang big, IMO.

The road win against Auburn a couple of years ago was pretty big at the time. It was a good step. But only a step. I like the fact that we outscored them 34 - 17 after the 10 spot and I don't think we played very well at all. We made enough mistakes to lose 3 or 4 ball games Saturday.

Looking at the stats Hooker and Tillman did well. The eye test says that Hooker was overthrowing balls in the 1st quarter and Tillman had 4 drops. I am not saying they played badly, I am saying they can play a lot better. This is why I used the term 'relatively', because relative to what we are used to they did not have a great game.

We beat Florida them who knows. Could be a very memorable season.

The results in FL and LSU determine how our season goes. Right now it's hard to tell how good or bad UK and FL are. Vandy looks to be Vandy. Missouri and USCe look to be less than was expected preseason. It's looking like we are looking at worst-case 3-4 losses regular season. If things all go perfectly 1-2 losses. Bama looked like mortals against Texas. I still have us marked down with L's to Bama and UGA and probably we go 2-1 against LSU/UK/FL. So yeah in away this win was very important not only because it keeps us going into week 4 at 3-0 and gives us a couple of weeks to fix the problems we found in that game and get folks healthy.

If the games we 'should' win.. Kentucky is the scariest. I think we can beat Gata, but I don't know about the Stoops troops ( and if they use that, I'm gonna sue)

totally different coaching staffs, different team cultures, comparing apples to oranges. I don’t believe any other UT team in the past 15 years wins the game vs Pitt. This team feels different. Won’t know for sure until we play UF. There is a mental block we have to overcome in that game, but if we can win that one, game on!

I think much like last year Pitt is a much better team than we give them credit for being. Hope Slovis and them win the ACC. Their coach is kind of a douche but they showed a lot of toughness in that game.
As long as Slovis comes back full steam they will compete for ACC again. He’s a tough dude. Didn’t care for coach’s antics but I think I’d like him if he were our coach. Like his no nonsense approach.

Agree. If we shore up the mistakes and figure out how to run the ball better we are in for a good season. We are in a good spot. Probably good we got a good test early and won. Can’t win them all unless you win the first two!

This one was the first game I thought of that was a HUGE win within the past decade.

How he talks. He says a team is good, but them turns and says something that makes that comment questionable. How he refused to acknowledge the push out of bounds TD. He talked about how his team missed something's and should have won, like there was no defense to force those mistakes or capitalize on them. Got on ESPN during the Backyard Brawl and dusted ESPN after the game on ESPN.

Biggest win “hands down” is an overstatement.
2016 Florida
2015 Georgia

I'd say the OP was alluding to the OOC games we played. Been since 2003 since we beat a ranked team on the road that was OOC. Miami I believe and they had Sean Taylor on that team that dropped that but ala Flowers.

IMO, to get the respect we are looking for have to beat FL, and hope FL doesn't tank after that like last season, and lets hope Pitt wins ACC or at least plays in championship game. Except for GA/Bama too early yet to see what beating other teams on our schedule would do. And Bama is not dead, just had a bump in the road. I would not bet against them being in SEC CG.
