is that Pearl is in trouble with the NCAA but Calipari skates by every year. Don't get me wrong...Pearl and staff cheated so the sanctions are deserved but give me a break NCAA. Kentucky signed a professional from Europe and Calipari gets nothing...college basketball is so corrupt.

Thats been my thought since this whole thing started, how exactly do you leave..not one...but two schools in trouble with the NCAA. both his final four seasons have been vacated, and he doesn't even get a slap on the wrist? Thats why I only watch UT basketball, it's all such a sham, but I gotta watch my team.

So wait a minute, Bruce did something wrong and got caught, but it sucks because Cal didn't get in trouble? Why don't you call it was it is, a terrible and idiotic move by UT's basketball coach.

no no no...you telling me you've never been caught doing something wrong while another guy who's always doing bad stuff gets away clean everytime, and you didn't feel the least bit slighted? It sucks all the way around it's just unfair and irritating that others don't also get caught.

It can't be put more succinctly than that.

This is how the Bammer's sounded when they got put on probation,

The punishment that Bruce received was not related to sanctions. This was an internal punishment from Mike Hamilton. Sanctions may or may not come later.

I'm so glad we're taking the mature route and not diving headfirst into the "But....Cal is worse, he's much worse!!!"

Oh wait....nevermind.

Look at it from Pearl's point of view. To keep up with the cheating going around you (KY) you have to bend the rules or he cant get good recruits then he will eventually get fired for lack of performance. I'm not mad at Pearl at all. I blame the NCAA for allowing certain programs to get away with it.

I think I made it clear that Pearl and his staff deserve punishment. I have no problem saying it was an idiotic move by UT basketball. However, it still is complete crap that the NCAA is spending their time investigating too many phone calls when a guy like Calipari is allowed to...well...we assume cheat. I love following Vol basketball but college basketball as a whole is a cesspool.

what is the "idiocy" tough guy?

Tough guy? Really?

Well, Tough Cranium, the idiocy is that two different schools are dealing with sanctions serious enough to get their seasons vacated. Meanwhile, the Flim-Flam man with the knack for abandoning ship well ahead of the other rats skates as free as Apollo Ohno on a frozen lake.

Meanwhile, Bruce, who publicly admitted his mistake and is taking his punishment like a man, is being and will be roasted -->> All because he's sticking by his school.

Bruce's crime? Making too many phone calls and texts.

Calimari? Well, let's see ... Enabling World Wide Wes to set up his own rolling hot tub parties with Marcus Camby, et al. ... Conveniently looking the other way - WINK! WINK! - When the blond college professor signed into the SAT as "Derrick Rose" (I believe "Coach" Cal was conducting Bible study at the time.)

BUT -->> Because "Coach" was able to squeeze a little excess hair gel onto the bottom of his alligator shoes and slide out the door before it slammed shut, Calimari gets nada.

Hopefully, T.C., I've made the issues simple enough to penetrate that coconut resting atop your shoulders. If not, fear not ... There'll always be a place for you in "Coach" Cal's team!

(P.S. - If you happen to run into the "Coach," tell him WWWes said it's his turn to bring the Fritos and bean dip to the next hot tub extravaganza, will ya?)

LOL. Whoever said it above, "Idiocy" does sum this thread up.

Since the NCAA investigation started 17 months ago (before Calismari was hired by KY), and since the violations being investigated occurred earlier than that, I think it's safe to say that BP was not making extra phone calls to keep up with Calismari.

I'll say one thing, if BP can't get away with a few phone calls, Cal better be squeaky clean with the scrutiny they are under, or he's next.
