The Big Ticket

If his primary position is going to be SF, he is going to be relied upon to help rebound and drive the ball. His ability to establish position for rebounds and ability to finish at the rim absolutely can be affected by his level of strength and mass.

I agree his skill and effort will dictate his success, but his ability/inability to add strength could be the difference in good and great. I'd feel less strong about if he were primarily a guard, but if we are moving towards a lineup that utilizes multiple 6-5 to 6-8 guys, he is going to have to do a lot of work at the rim. Fortunately, aggressiveness isn't an issue for him.
I agree with what you said, and as a case-in-point, there was one instance in our last game where he had established good position for a defensive rebound and would have had it but for a stronger guy pushing him entirely underneath the rim. Without a strong base at that particular position, he just can't establish and keep proper position, not to mention several other scenarios where some girth is required.

Isn't it just "Ticket"? Not "Big Ticket"?

I've seen several people saying "Big Ticket" on here. Which in my opinion, is not as good of a nickname.

He got it before he came here for his overall game.

Yes, I understand that his nickname started before he got here. What I was asking about was the "Big" portion.
Which your post also answered.
Gotcha. Wasn’t sure if that attachment was gonna be readable or not. When I attach a screenshot and post it, I can only see the very top when I click on it.

Yeah the “Big” part was probably more for his overall numbers than size or scoring.

Either way, that's a great nickname. Adding to the legend, Gaines first points come from a dunk where he gets a tech for hanging on the rim. Although, I was slightly intoxicated when I started this thread, Gaines has a complete game, long, plays defense, rebounds, passes and can score. Plus, he is fearless, those 2 free throws he hit coming in for LT, were so clutch. I think the future's so bright for this kid
