So in the OPs opinion, our big money guys need to open their wallets? I never even thought of this![]()
Tell me where to mail the check ****er.Or is it run by village idiots? And who is the actual idiot? :lolabove:
I am well aware that Haslam is a billionaire, and DishTV mogul Ergen is as well (how strongly Ergen cares about UT football compared to Haslam is debatable).
This is more about YOU, or at any rate those complaining about Butch not being bought out.
Hell...Haslam is reported to be worth $2.5 billion. So even for him, $2.5 M is 0.1 %.
That would be the equivalent of $400 for the average net worth of a person in Tennessee.
How many of you are willing to donate even $400?
And let's take into account that Haslem is likely already donating a ton of money to UT. How many of you have given one cent?
So how about it? It would take 6250 people donating $400 to pay Butch's $2.5 M additional buyout prior to end of season.
It's easy to sit back and whine, and want someone else to pay for it. Put up the money yourselves, or STFU.![]()
Ha... a little Pervy imo
People are always quick too spend other people's money. It's usually the have nots telling the haves to spend more. What a world.
It's costing Tennessee more than 2.5 million to keep him till the end if they do. They can lose a ton more than that in a single game day.
Easy to assert without proof.
Is that a drop in concessions at Neyland? According to my sources, almost all the tickets for this season are already sold.
Exactly how will UT lose that amount in the next 3 weeks?

But you're missing the point. Feeling impatient? Open up your own wallet!![]()
You said that UT would lose more than 2.5 million, not the local economy. Let the local economy pay the buyout if they want him out before season's end.
How much do you think on average a fan spends on a game day for concessions, apparel, other university endorsed products? How much do you think a 25 percent reduction in attendance affects this? This is just short sighted loss too without considering future ticket sales, donations, the recruits you land for being a good team, etc. The money line gets moved a tremendous amount if you have two home games that are 85k or less in attendance but by all means carry on assuming that those seats being sold mean everything.
If the UT AD sent me a letter saying we want to fire Butch, but we need your help to do it, I'd gladly send them my hard earned money. I do not get these threads that attack the fanbase. The piss poor results are not due to the fanbase. Every fanbase has some crazies and idiots, we are no different, but one thing we have shown is that we are loyal to Tennessee. These "villiage idiots" are largely why Tennessee can fund $340 million renovations.

But butch (op is probably one of his "many" supporters) and one of their narratives is big bad mean fans "not supporting" his stupid coaching and looking at what the real cause of all this really is.
Whoever next coach is will have same stupid worshipers
Dooley had his
It seems a lot of you are frustrated that Jones is not gone yet, but it's well known that waiting a few more weeks will save UT a cool $2.5 M.
I often hear that "big money boosters" need to step up.
Well...if a guy is worth $100 million, and he covers the whole thing, he has given away 2.5% of his net worth. The equivalent would be a person worth 100K giving $2500.
Well...according to this website, the average household net worth in Tennessee is about 400K. So this gives me an idea!

Crowd source it. You want a guy worth $100 M to buy out this year of Butch's contract? Do it yourself, and you only need 1000 buddies to make it happen!
Come on...you want the "big money guys" to do it and whine when they don't. DIY baby!
I'll start the drive myself.
Quite whining and put your money where you mouth is!
