I would be thrilled to break into the Top 10 recruiting classes. I'm definitely not a "star-slurper" at all, but I always enjoy the excitement on these boards immediately following those rare 5 star surprise commitments.

Currently, it seems like we may not get one of those joys this year though. Regardless, NSD always feels kind of electric around here as well. Man, I cannot freakin' wait to see who we end up with after it is all said and done!!

You can send mail. I went through Navy bootcamp in 1999 and the drill instructors passed out mail 5 minutes before lights out.

The problem is he wouldn't have known what ship (bldg) or division he would be assigned before he left. If someone is friends with his family they could get the information. There was nothing better than getting mail in boot camp.
