I listen to a lot of bands. My favorite is probably U2. And yes, I'm sure U2 was probably influenced by the Beatles, but as I have stated repeatedly in this thread, I am in agreement that the Beatles were influental, I just don't like their songs.

Ugh!!!!

On the original topic - I understand the influence of the Beatles and appreciate their songwriting skills and talent.

I just never liked them. The only album I owned and listened to was the White Album.

BTW - I hate the Eagles.

Maybe there is a connection, I like both groups. Who do you like?

That's the weird thing - I like tons of different groups.

From that era, I'm a Stones, Who, Kinks, Zep, Cream, etc. fan.

The Beatles I can tolerate but just like the Dude (my avatar), I hate the f'n Eagles man!

To each his own I guess.

My favorite Beatles songs are definitely some of the best songs I have ever listened to. However, I do find that too many people force others to listen to crappy Beatles tunes simply because they are Beatles tunes. Personally, if you are going to listen to any song by any group/singer simply because they put it out there, I would have to choose to listen to Simon and Garfunkel.

....A poet and a one-man band... I choose that many days.

oasis isn't that bad. i actually enjoy listening to them every now and then. i think he's pointing out the fact that their lead singer was quoted as saying thet were "bigger than the beatles" at the height of their success.

I guess that means they're also more popular than Jesus.
