Last week when Bowling Green got close in score,the fans just SAT there and was quiet.The maxom says"when things don't go your way,put on more steam".This needs to be this Saturday(and every Saturday).DO not let the Sooners hear anything.Be loud,crazy,whatever you want.Raise hell on 09/12/15.GBO

I just quit talking. No words. Storing up my noise and letting it loose Saturday night. Throat feels healthy. In tip top shape. Preseason workout yelling at Bama fans out my car window. Don't ask me anything, I won't answer. It's on like Donkey Kong.

There might come a time during the game tomorrow night when it seems like all is lost. It might not come to pass, but it could. IF IT DOES...

...stand up and go freakin' nuts! Don't worry about how you look to outsiders, or give in to the gloom and despair, just make noise and rally! Because if you're feelin' down, if you are starting to doubt, there's a chance our boys in orange on the field may be feeling some of the same thing. And they're gonna need you to help them shake it off, to get refocused, re-energized. You and I, we CAN help them in that way!

If all of Neyland is behind them, if they feel that in their bones, if it comes to them like a THUNDERCLAP at the critical moment, it can make all the difference in the world. This is how we can help our team.

So let's do it, if that time comes. Okay.

I've got a really familiar, deja vu all over again kind of feeling today. The coach and players for Oklahoma are at best dismissive, at worst downright insulting about the Volunteers. They expect an easy win, a big win. They expect the Vols to roll over and play dead because they're the big, bad Oklahoma Sooners and our kids should be scared. They expect to quiet Neyland, to stifle Rocky Top, to make Knoxville into an outpost of Norman, Oklahoma. They don't know who Derek Barnett is. They don't see anything special about Jalen Hurd. They don't think Neyland Stadium is any different from where they've played before. They don't believe that Josh Dobbs is good enough to beat them with his arm.

They don't think the Vols are in the same league as they are. They have dismissed all of us--fans, players, coaches, staff, students--as unimportant and a non-factor.

We've seen that from teams before. We've seen Miami players practicing their chest bumps in the end zone during warm-ups. We've seen Florida teams sneer at Neyland and its traditions. We've heard Spurrier flap his trap about somersaults and handsprings and how you can't spell Citrus without UT. And we're just now emerging from the darkest time in our program's history--to find Oklahoma disrespecting us and our house.

But when the game is over, when either the Vols or the Sooners have won, those Oklahoma players, coaches, and fans are going to leave RESPECTING TENNESSEE. Their players are going to be hurting, their fans are going to be cowed, their coaches are going to be admiring. Their ears will be ringing from the noise, and Rocky Top will be stuck in their heads for days.

I believe in Team #119. I believe in Coach Jones and what he's doing here. I believe we're going to win. But in order for our players to believe in themselves, they've got to know that WE believe. Wear the right color for your section. Get your shakers for the whole family. Get down to Neyland early, and make our visitors from Oklahoma feel welcome. Then let them fend for themselves, because Saturday is about OUR TEAM, not them. Go to the Vol Walk and tell our men that "WE BELIEVE IN YOU!" Get into Neyland and get it rocking.Make those young men believe in US, because then they'll believe in THEMSELVES.

This team can accomplish anything if it believes it can. It's our job to make sure that they believe.

If that speech doesn't get your blood pumping, and make you want to tackle somebody, I'm pretty sure you aren't a Vol fan! I will be there giving my all for Tennessee! I expect to lose my voice by the end of it. My father in law who is an OU grad will be with me and will come to understand what it means to be a Tennessee fan. We give our all. We are passionate and expect football to be played at the highest level. Yelling the entire game is a minor contribution we can make compared to the efforts of the young men giving their all on the field, but it is what we will do. We got your back team 119!!! GO VOLS! !!!
