Looks like Missouri’s trying to run down the clock and kick the FG to make it a 9 point game.

Missouri getting rid of the rock garden? Did I see that correctly?
While the construction for the luxury boxes in that area is going on, yes. They’re being built over/above where the rock lawn was.

I think they’re putting it back once the construction is completed, but I’m not 100% sure.

Why not just kick the ball deep?????????
Lessen the chances of a kickoff return for a TD (USCe had one against VT this year.)

With 1:34 left and a 2 score lead, one of the last things they want to do is allow a quick USCe TD and the chance to recovery an onside kick with 1:20 left in the game…they lost last year off of Sellers scoring a last second TD after they’d pulled ahead by 6 with 1:10 left.

I hate USCjr but I feel sorry for them a little. Somehow I don’t think Shula survives the season.

That will do it. 29-20 final.

Missouri wins the Mayor’s Cup. They’ve now won 6 of the last 7 against the Gamecocks.

Evidently they don’t have a kicker that can kick it in the end zone

Possibly. From what I gather, the original starting kicker, a senior, handled kickoffs; he broke his leg during a return the first game of the season.

I hate to hear that
Yeah, very unfortunate. It goes without saying but, after something like that, he’s out for the season.

Likewise, that same game, Sam Horn (the QB who was competing with the current starter Pribula) ran a 6-yard designed run on his first play of the season and got hit low by the defender. Out for the season. Had to have surgery for a fractured tibia.
