Wes was a victim of the vocal minority, keyboard warrior crowd. No one who “touches grass” or existed “IRL” could have a problem with him.I'm relieved that the Vol Twitter reaction to Rucker's passing is what it should be. Given his interactions with them over the years I expected far worse, kind of like what occurs when a political figure dies. That is so, so sad.
Yeah I know, but you know how it goes this day and age. He was particularly unpopular with negavols who thought he pumped sunshine in order to keep his access to the program, while also at the same time there were other folks who thought he was too negative. I think that means he was doing his job. And I'm assuming none of these people knew him in real life. I guess it shows that however toxic sports fanbases can get (and they can get pretty toxic), it is nothing compared to the toxicity of political discourse.Wes was a victim of the vocal minority, keyboard warrior crowd. This is genuinely sad. He had to be one of my first twitter follows and a top source of Vol news for as long as I knew Vols news existed. I cannot imagine what his wife is and will be going through. I’m mostly just frozen in terror as a father of young children that my life revolves around, that his son will never know him or the immense love he has for him. A hole neither one of them deserve.

I was lucky enough to have my dad for 17 years before he passed. I can’t imagine what they’re going to go through. I always respected Wes’s approach. I didn’t agree with him sometimes, but he was always genuine in voicing HIS opinion, and I appreciated that. I’m glad Vol twitter is helping with a gofundme. I’m hoping that there will be enough stories and reminders from Vol fans that their family can still feel a piece of him over time. Very saddened by it.Wes was a victim of the vocal minority, keyboard warrior crowd. No one who “touches grass” or existed “IRL” could have a problem with him.
