The Atlanta Braves

Braves can't have nice things. Something is up with this team and conditioning. Too many major injuries to major players for it all to just be bad luck. Did they sell their soul for that series title 5 years ago?
it’s because we exist on the periphery of being serious, we love high risk, high reward players because we can buy low or pay underslot. It’s fine to do this on occasion but this is more of organizational philosophy than a calculated risk

Pitchers get hurt pretty frequently. The problem is, we a doubled down on that injury risk and kept investing early round picks into guys that have already been injured.
Entire rotations don't spend significant portions of the season on the IL with the frequency ours does, though. 5 of the top 7 rotation guys ended the season on the 60-day IL, last year. You are correct on the draft strategy, though.

Yeah Barrett! Just a guy who hasn’t pitched 180 innings this decade, a guy with two TJ’s before 25, a guy who missed the entire year with a shoulder, another guy who had a partially torn UCL last year and a 2nd year player the team didn’t trust for a rotation spot until August. Going great!

I genuinely do not mean this as an insult to Jimenez but either that knee is absolutely shredded beyond belief or he doesn’t take rehab seriously (I’m assuming it’s the 1st)
