The Atlanta Braves

Mike Mathews is so talented and so frustrating. If he locks in he could be a 1st-3rd round pick his junior year. He leaves a lot on the table in drops and blocking.
I don't think it is an effort thing with him; I think it is a focus thing. If he just got a nudge on the safety trailing the play on that 4th and 2, Star Thomas would have walked into the end zone. He had his back turned to the field and I think just kind of zoned out, and by the time he turned his head around and saw him it was too late to make a play.

Maybe he's going to be like Hyatt and Brazzell and need a second full year of playing in this offense before it truly clicks.

Matthews has still been impressive. Yes, he does need improve his focus, but he is on pace for 800+ yards right now as a first time starter and a true sophmore. And that is with Brazzell balling out and Stayley being 2nd on the team in receptions.

This is the most frustrating thing about Matthews. He and Brazzell could be the 2 best WRs in the country that’s not Jeremiah Smith.
