Sadly, he's probably the 2nd best out of the bullpen.

Lee is cheap and useful. The problem is that we are forced to use him in high leverage situations too often and he just isn't that great of a pitcher to be pitching in high leverage situations. It's doubtful he'll bring back any in a trade that's gonna be better than him. If he were expensive or on an expiring contract, I would agree that he should be traded.

We need to do all we can to move Bummer, but unfortunately I'm sure no one is desperate enough to take on a 9 million guarantee for a super mediocre middle reliever.

Unless these guys get traded, next year's pen is already gonna look something like: Pierce, Lee, Hernandez, Jimenez, and Bummer. Maybe Lopez too.

As scary as that is, the pen would start falling into place if none of those guys were forced to work the 8th and the 9th. Like you said, the bigger issue is Minter didn’t really get replaced and the wheels came off Iglesias.
