I couldn’t help but notice in the in-game interview last night, when asked if Strider would be starting Game 3 ( I think they said three, might have said fourWould personally go Morton 3, Strider/McHugh 4 but I’m fine either way.
The question was posed in a way that started is strider available and snit immediately said no, assuming the question was about that game (G1) but when the question was finished (G3) he said we don’t know yetI couldn’t help but notice in the in-game interview last night, when asked if Strider would be starting Game 3 ( I think they said three, might have said four) he very quickly said “no” but then it was like he wanted to un-say it.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t start in this series. High leverage relief situation would be his first role, whether it had been tonight, or perhaps even in Game 3. If we get through Game 3 without needing him, THEN he could maybe start Game 4, but probably still more of a high leverage situation since he’s going to be limited on pitches.Strider being in the bullpen today is the weird thing to me. If he was down there then he was available. If he’s available out of the pen then I’m not 100% sure he’s starting a game.
You have absolutely no idea what you’re getting from him in quality or quantity and their crowd has been waiting for this for 11 years, and this team specifically for over a week. Chuck has the postseason track record. I would go with the vet for G3, piggyback Strider and McHugh for G4.I think I’d go Strider in Game 3 with the bullpen a full day off and everyone available. Strider for 3-4 , McHugh for 2, go from there.

The preceding off day is meaningless. Everyone is rested right now. You can’t blow through them all in G3 with 3 consecutive games to play.I just don’t trust Chuck right now to hold them at bay against Nola. 3 ER in 5 innings might get us beat. In game 4, that gives you a good shot. Plus, if Strider get hurts or only goes 3 innings you got everyone fully rested and then can go from there.
